Does BushCo pay a price for standing by Gonzo?? |
|
I see these repuglican senators withdrawing support but * stands by his tejano. Gonzo must be doing a heck of a job. Does * lose life points with the repug senators as this happens? Would it make them more inclined to listen to impeachment arguements??

1. The Longer he holds on to Gonzo....the more he damages |
|
the Repuglican party....the Repugs want to cut Gonzo and try to recover ......but the more * is pushed the more he fights back....let him continue to hold on....because he is ensuring that the Republican party is destroyed.

2. He has nothing to lose by standing by him, and a great deal to lose |
|
if the whole fabric of his criminality starts to unravel. :kick:

3. Bush is petulant and tries to dig in against any force trying to get him |
|
to budge.
But this is already a bit late in his second term and his approval ratings are in the toilet.
Republicans in the Congress are likely getting real edgy about their re-election chances. The longer someone like Gonzales is the head of Justice, the more difficult it is for those GOP representatives and senators to be re-elected in 2008.
Today, Judicial Committee member Tom Coburn, by no means a moderate, called for Gonzales' resignation.
The writing's on the White House wall, and the letters say, "Gonzales must go!"
Already politically weakened, Bush loses ground by giving Gonzales the thumbs up.
