So Rudy Gualinni plans on winning by using the same old Republican fear tactics |
|
Mainstream television media has him huffing and puffing how if a Democrat were to become President, the USA would be ten times more likely to suffer an even more catastrophic attack than 911 at the hands of the terrorists than if a Republican were elected. Well if that doesn't send the sheeple scurrying into their mouse holes, nothing will!
Unfortunately, it's a tactic that always seems to work for them, and until the Democrats learn how to beat them at their own game of fear, it'll be nothing but an uphill battle for us. We are so far behind Republicans when it comes to playing mind games that it makes me wonder if we even have any credible think tanks out there.
Perhaps Democrats should start scaring voters with a scare tactic of their own and use the ultimate scare tactic of them all, fear of all-out nuclear war breaking out if a Republican is elected president. It could go something like this: "If a Republican is elected President, the chances of life on Earth coming to an abrupt halt because of a nuclear holocaust are 1000 times greater than if a Democrat is elected in 2008."
Anyway, my point is, until we learn how to not only counter their claims of this and that with OUR OWN claims made about THEM...and start taking the OFFENSE by going at THEM with well-worded scare tactics of our own....we're not going to ever see them backing off us with their tactics of scare and fear.

3. Nope, you aren't, but our Democratic strategists are |
|
since they continually fail to point out simple matters like what you just did. Our people just aren't up to par when it comes to playing the fear game. I know lots of people here will say, ahh we shouldn't stoop to their level, but until we hit them hard with their own medicine, it's only going to get worse for us with how repukes play on people's fear of dying at the expense of Democrats.

2. Last evening on C-Span . Democrats=Socialized Medicine |
|
On C-Span last evening, Guillian was doing his firebreathing fear tactics on Health Care. If Democrats win, they will bring Socialized Medicine. Over and Over. You must elect Republicans.
Guilliani cannot stir up the base by frothing at mouth over God, Guns Gay and Race. He is on the wrong side of the party on these issues.
His main issue will be Terrorism, 9/11, etc. Thus he will be in fear mongering mode against any issue , ie, Health Care that is seen as strong point with Dems.
There needs to be some counter attacks out there since he is going after the Democratic party and not his Republican Party Competition. Realistically he should be attacking McCain, Romney, Brownback ete. He has apparently started the general election. Someone should head him off at the pass.

6. Absolutely there need to be counter attacks to his fear game...at the very least |
|
Better yet, we need to take the offense and one-up them at their own game. Our strategists, if any really do exist, need to take the game of fear to a new level and level Republicans with a bitter taste of their own medicine.

4. Uh, it didn't work last November. |
|
I don't think the American public is buying it anymore. Yes, there are many that still buy into it, but they will always belong to the 35% that support the Republicans.
This is a message of desperation more than anything else.

7. This is why we want to run against Guiliani. |
|
He's just like Cheney and Bush, except that he's for gun-control, a women's right to choose, and gay rights. He will get destroyed in the general. Democrats won't vote for him, and many Republicans will stay home.

10. Not so sure--I have noticed on other forums that some |
|
Dems and Indies like him personally, which is always what the vote comes down to for many people. They think he's "honest" and not a fundie. There's a reason why the GOP powers-that-be haven't cut him off at the knees for not being conservative enough for the base--they think he can fool enough people in the general.

11. Maybe, but I think a lot that support is from ignorant Democrats. |
|
They don't realize that he is just like Bush and also supports this unpopular war. They know him as someone they occasionaly see on Seinfeld reruns and from 9/11 footage. Once they realize that firemen don't like him, and he actually did a poor job after 9/11 they will change their tune; I hope.

Can't imagine why he'd change at this point of his career. He only knows how to speak "bully".

12. Republicans are through |
|
No Republican stands a chance in 2008. After six years of mind-boggling screw-ups, 70+% of America wants Democrats. The Republicans shouldn't even bother to run anyone.
