I really don't believe that most Americans who are against George W. Bush's WAR are sincere enough to put a stop to this insanity.
The United States of America is very quickly becoming the laughing stock of the world.
The United States of America is very quickly becoming NOT the greatest super power of the world.
Who can do something to stop the Bush War Machine?
Those of us who finally held up our placards against the Vietnam war need to take on this war!
Remember it was YEARS after we started our protests, mostly following the Chicago Democratic Convention when we saw our contemporaries being trampled to the ground, that Vietnam finally ended.
Nearly five years!
What will it take, folks, to become the power that finally ends this craziness?
I don't count on our politicians or those who want to be president. I don't see ANY PASSION in them!
NO PASSION!
What can we do??????

1. I don't know what we can do about this, but I do know that this whole |
|
gang of criminals should be marched out of the WH now... I also think that a lot of these so called Dems are happy with the ways things are and don't intend to do anything about this criminal administration .

2. May I ask you what do you think happened in 2006? we were NOT suppossed to win according to history |
|
and the pundunts, but we won BOTH HOUSES, and even when it looked like we might take the house, NO ONE in their wildest dreams thought we would take the Senate. Ohio was an amazing turnaround state
You may not see the passion, BUT I FEEL IT. The 2006 election was the turning point. Don't believe the MSM, they are not an honest borker

4. Sorry, the criminal chimp is still pulling the US around by the nose. |

Princess Pelosi says he is not worth taking out. So what good did the 2006 election really do to save America?
And so it goes.

5. This administration is completing the noose that will hang them in 2008 |
|
In 2000 when Nader said it really didn't matter who won, HE WAS WRONG
The Supreme Court DOES MATTER Healthcare DOES MATTER Jobs DO MATTER Social Security DOES MATTER The Environment DOES MATTER
In 2008 there are a large number of REPUBLICAN SEATS UP FOR REELECTION. The Democrats will NOT ONLY take the Senate back, but in a BIG WAY, along with all three branches of government
As slow as the people are in this country, they realize they are being screwed

3. The lack of passion is probably directly connected to a lack of a draft. |
|
None of the young people in this country are in danger of being dragged off to fight in a foreign was. Parents are not worried about their kids or the kid down the street being sent overseas to fight. I think the general consensus of those who oppose the war but are otherwise leading comfortable and safe lives is that those who are in Iraq now volunteered to serve. They see those who chose to become soldiers like people who choose to become cops and find themselves in a harm's way not of their choosing and which may not be good, but they have to follow orders and do as they are told. I do not agree, but I think this explains a lot of the apathy and lack of large peace demonstrations like during Vietnam.

6. You can't forget ALL our butts were on the line then |
|
It's a lot different when it will dramatically and immediately affect your life. I'm as passionate about this war as that one, and I don't even have any kids to worry about. My birthday was #7 in the lottery the year they decided to give it up. If not for that, I'd probably be in Saskatchewan with my BIL.
I understand and agree with you're frustration at the lack of involvement and passion, but I understand that most people are insulated from the cost of this folly. Be patient and vigilant, the tide is turning. It was a long time between when the first "advisers" arrived in Indo-China and the last American was taken of a rooftop in Saigon.

7. Do what Edwards says - write these sorry Senators |
|
and tell them if Bush vetoes the bill to send up another one just like it. BHO said at the debate that they need 16 votes to override the veto. That's just an excuse for going along. They don't need to override. They just need to send funding bills that ONLY have timetables. One after another after another. Buy some courage, Senate.

8. Decent journalists, so don't get your hopes up |

I'm not sure I agree with those posters who've been saying that without a draft, we're not as motivated as in the Vietnam years. I've done every God-blessed thing I could think of & I've never felt more insignificant.
If we protest, the MSM doesn't cover us. If we write/fax/call/e-mail, the Congress primarily ignores us. The only clergy willing to yell are the blowhards like Falwell.
No one outside of the stinking cesspool of corruption, formerly known as the White House, matters. Most of the press are too busy dancing & waiting for their phones to ring.
How can we hit 'em in the purse - boycott selective products or services? Help! :dilemma:
