Where The Number Of Marchers For May 1st Immigration Marches Down Because...... |
|
of the raid in the Chicago area about a week before? Was that raid intentional and pushed by *Co to purposely intimidate to make sure that the marches wouldn't be as effective as the past marches?

2. Personally don't think the raid was a Bush/Rove move |
|
for two reasons: First, it was Fitzie that put the raid in play and it was targeted on a guy running a ring that they've been after for quite awhile. The daughter of the top guy has been cooperating w/the feds on this one. Second, Bush is not in sync with his base on this one. They want them all deported, he wants 'comprehensive bill' with path to citizenship.
Also, from what I understood, Chicago had the largest of the marchers even though it was smaller than last year.
As to why it was smaller...well, dunno. My first inclination is that it's not an issue that's up for vote this year, but next year will be an increase as the campaigns get into full swing and nitty grittys.

3. Great post, but you sure know how to take the spirit out of a |
|
thread by shifting responsibility for this from Bush/Rove to Fitzie. ;)
