Hey Congress, Gonzo's been bitch slapping the shit out of you.
We sit around and cheer when Wexler yells at him. We chortle when he sounds like the fucking tool he is. We decry him for obviously lying ....

But you know what?

He's still there.

But wait ..... I have an idea. How about you guys use him as a practice target. Impeach his ass.

You'll pass it for sure in the House.

It has at least an even chance of Senate passage, too,

Go for it.

Then poll the populace and see if they like the idea. If they do, you know who needs to be next, right?

That .... or sit around like the always extinct Ineffectivus Politicus

1. the fact that he cannot recall anything makes him incompetent for the job
if i was called in by my boss and told her I couldnt recall anything, I could never get away with it.

then again, my boss takes no prisoners when it comes to dishonesty and deceit.

2. When he was asked
"How do you know that the President and the VP didn't put the lawyers name on the list?"

Remember he is supposed to be the top lawyer (he should know about proof, evidence blah, blah, blah)

Gonzo's response....wait for it...

"I just know they wouldn't do that"!!

:wtf:

5. Right on...
Blah Blah Blah Blah...
Do something goddammit!
Gonzo is a poster child for why impeachment was written into the Constitution.
Not like we don't have other targets, but he's a good start.

7. Go for it!
As I posted in another thread, Chimpy won't fire Gonzo, he won't resign, and he certainly won't prosecute himself. Any the bills the Dems manage to get through the House will likely languish and die in the Senate or get vetoed or voided by signing statement by Chimpy. But everybody in the Senate (except for Orin Hatch) is running away from Gonzo. Come on, Dems, take a stand!

8. I don't understand it
Gonzo thumbs his nose at Congress and they just keep asking the same questions over and over. If I'm outraged watching this why aren't they? When is enough enough? It's baffling.

11. If they keep him talking long enough, he may say something truthful by mistake.

Or he'll just keep saying "I can't recall" and at least some of the media will report how many times he gave such responses.

9. Right on!
Here we have the perfect candidate for impeachment. He's an easy target and impeaching him would start some momentum for real changes.

This is an opportunity Democrats need to be exploiting. Political leverage is a very valuable asset. We've got it right now, right in front of us and it's way past time to make it work for us.

10. I'm not entirely sure
but I don't think a cabinet member can be impeached. He was hired by the president and answers to the president (especially this one). Only the president can fire him (or accept his resignation).

Of course, I could be totally wrong on this. Anyone?

12. They sure can be impeached
Q. What is impeachment?
A. It is a process, authorized by the Constitution, to bring charges against certain officials of the federal government for misconduct while in office.

Q. Who are these officials?
A. Article 2, Section 4, specifies that "The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors." These "civil officers" include federal judges and cabinet members, but do not include Senators and Representatives, (the Senate and House deal with misconduct by their own members).

14. On the other hand, he could stay on as the poster boy for GOP incompetence
We can plaster every campaign in the nation with pics of Bushieboy and Gonzo and tar the Pukes endlessly with it.

But I could go either way on this one. It's a win-win for us.

15. The Republicans have a ton of incompetent people
in office and it doesn't seem to matter to the average Joe. Bush's incompetence needs to be our focus. Hearing Gingrich advise Republican hopefulls to steer clear of mentioning Bush (which we saw in the debate) in favor of a zillion Reagan references shows us where we need to strike.
