When a Bushie like Attorney General Gonzales says "I accept responsibility," it sends the bile of cynicism churning. He accepts responsibility the way a black hole accepts matter.

When he says "contrary to being gun shy, this process is somewhat liberating in terms of going forward," I become awash not in bile, but in Boomer nostalgia.

It's like watching a Watergate tribute band. It recalls the halcyon days when the venal voiceboxes of the Nixon administration felt compelled to obfuscate even the simplest of concepts, such as contorting "now" into "at this particular point in time."

Ah, the good old days — but with even more lying, at this particular point in time.
