Question about possible Gonzales impeachment. |
|
If Congress were to begin an impeachment investigation, how does the process work? Would the Administration simply be able to continue stonewalling (on providing the Rove emails, etc.) , as they are doing now? Or would there be a way to compel cooperation?

So many are bought out, corrupt, or caught up in cronyism .. while needing contributions and corporate support.. that it's hard to say whether the process would work or not.
Would you trust it to go to Scotus more than once?

a Senator is not required to meet the same standard as a juror in order to vote for removal from office. Stonewalling could work just as well as incriminating testimony. I doubt it would be that simple in practice -- it really depends on how fed up the most likely 14 or 15 Republican Senators are.
