This is my 10,000 post and I want to use it to express the hope that |
|
all DU will be able to unite and support true liberal ideals in the next election. I hope that we will rally around the Democratic standard bearere, no matter who it is as that persobn is our only chance of restoring intergrity to out nation. The Democratic Party the real party of the big tent and I hope we can all remember that.

Once the Sage wrote: "At birth a man is supple and soft; at death, he is stiff and hard. Therefore it is the flexible who is the disciple of life, and the unyielding who is the disciple of death."

2. Isn't this a contradiction? |

"all DU will be able to unite and support true liberal ideals in the next election. I hope that we will rally around the Democratic standard bearere, no matter who it is as that persobn is our only chance of restoring intergrity to out nation."
That is the logic the GOP has been using for years, much to the chagrin of myself and many other people. They select a candidate that doesn't necessary stand for the principles of a large majority of the party, but use the "loyalty" argument to get them to vote against their own self-interests.
EITHER you support true liberal ideals OR you mindlessly support a candidate chosen by a political party. That isn't to say that the party can't select someone who supports true liberal ideas, but if you choose to ignore who that person is and vote for them, "no matter what" you are, by definition, not supporting true liberal ideals.

'Popular Front' beats splinterism, every time. The key is to concentrate on where we agree, and leave the rest to take care of itself in the jostle of our commonality.

6. The concept remains the same |
|
Blind support is not supporting ideals, it is blind support and no better placed in the dem camp than the GOP

7. I, for one, will not... |
|
...mindlessly support a candidate 'chosen' by a political party, in this case meaning the Democratic party. I guess that means I am not a 'good Democrat'. Whatever...but I will stick with my convictions.

8. Yeah, but the number one goal is to take back the White House |
|
and if means supporting the less than ideal democratic candidate just because she/he has the best chance to win, so be it.
Congrats on post 10,000.
