If you see other candidates entering the presidential race, when do you see it happening? |
|
both sides, Republican and Democrat.

3. September after Gen. Petraeus melt-down report |
|
predict situation will detoriate sharply this summer, Bush will have no base support left, having used up all his IOUs and arm twisting even Jeffrey Sessions is saying that there needs to be a major shift by fall.

4. How would that affect who gets in, though? It wouldn't make a difference for |
|
Gore, Newt's position on the war is already broadcast, same with Thompson (who I think will get in June-July). The only person a bad Petraeus report helps is Hagel.

5. It would help Wes Clark - another general who warned not to |
|
go in there in the first place.
Hell, I just hope Gore or Clark gets in - either one is fine. I'm not impressed with any of those currently running except for Kucinich, who wouldn't be able to win since we have to have 'rock stars' as candidates, now.

10. True, I didn't think of Wes--I assumed he wouldn't run. He needs to |
|
announce something by then or it's too late for him, I think.

6. If Hillary sinks in the polls, Gore will come in |
|
and you will see more moderate republicans as well.

7. Recently Gingrich said he would decide in late October |
|
It may have been Timmie's show but it was pretty recent. I think he was on with Chris Dodd because Dodd joked about having Newt as a running mate and Newt joked that it would be the "white hair" ticket.

9. That tells me Newtie ain't running. No way he can organize and raise |
|
enough money in 2-3 months to win the primary.

Though if there is another Reichstag F^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H completely unforseeable terrorist attack in September, the Repiglican media will be busy talking about the new Iran war and there won't be any airtime for candidates, especially Democrats.

Otherwise they won't have time to build their organizations, generate momentum and raise money. Due to so many primaries, including large states, being on Feb 5 or before, it will take a lot of resources to compete.
People like Newt are just kidding themselves.

17. Newt's a joke anyway. But Gore's people are already in place |
|
I really don't believe there is any reason for Gore to enter before August at the earliest. It makes sense for him to enter later.

16. In a normal election cycle Labor Day would be the kickoff, but.... |
|
this year I think they would delay until mid October to have time to gage the war report, peace prize candidates and world weather outlook.
