Whoa. Why is everyone believing The New Republic? |
|
(in regard to a 'purge' of Dean supporters by the DLC)
Does this magazine have a record of supporting Democrats and the Democratic party?
Doesn't it have a conservative agenda?

1. No, it's always been a liberal magazine |
|
of course alot of obsessivly anti-war people here can't handle a liberal magazine with some hawkish columnists but the history and facts remain that it's pro-democrat

4. Conservative magazines with conservative agendas promote the GOP |

The New Republic has endorsed every democratic president since it's inception. It doesn't have really any right-of center journalists, maybe some centrists, but on balance it's still a mainstream democratic magazine. And basically it doesn't stray from traditional democratic values in any way, whether it be social policies, economic policies, and unless you believe the democratic foriegn policy is that of Noam Chomsky(as many people here seem to), then foriegn policy as well

Endorsed Anderson instead of Carter in 1980. Also, back in the earlier part of the century is what much more radical--might have endorsed Socialists back then.
But your main point is correct--it is an overwelmingly Democratic magazine, with some token neocons.

3. It's a moderate, Pro-Democratic Party publication. |

It's pretty obvious that this "purge" will happen. It happens every campaign cycle and that's a fact.
Dean Campaign was about changing the Democratic Party.
We have failed and will be villified by the establishment.(eg. as such, here).
That's okay though.
But, in my opinion, the ABB crowd need not worry about our presence. There will be even fewer "Deaners" after the coronation.
Kerry does not need our votes. Because the vast majority have already chosen their "safe" route. No matter how we choose to vote, our votes will not matter come November.

7. I wish Edwards great luck. |

But, the simple truth is that the "pile-on" has begun.
Sorry to say it guy, but, it's true.
I'm standing by Dean until the end, out of sheer respect and belief for him.

...hey, we have been told time and again that 9-11 changed everything. I've learned to expect the unexpected. That and having just watched Part II of Manchester (WW) helps...

After 9/11...
"Those who do not stand with the president, stands with the terrorists!"
Sounds familiar...don't it?
I'm not ready to put-on that American flag pin.
