Dem self-loving exercise one: What do you admire about Hillary the most? |
|
Given the fact that we have endured through several months of self-inflicted attacks on our candidates, I think we need to take a break and give space to some positive thoughts. We have an excellent field of presidential candidates and we need to appreciate that.
So, in an attempt to keep alive the spirit of unity, I say we have a weekly thread in which we can praise the virtues of our candidates, WITH NO FLAMING, HATING, OR ATTACKING ANY OF THE OTHER CANDIDATES! If this week we are talking about what we admire the most about Hillary, neither Obama nor Edwards or any of the others need to be mentioned here. There is no space here to talk trash about any candidate, so if you don't think you have anything positive to say about the candidate in question, don't post anything.
This week's question is- What do you admire about Hillary the most?
My answer: That she is in to win it, for real. She's one of the most prepared candidates I've ever seen. It's really a pleasure to watch her in action, because she knows what she is doing. Very skilled politician.
What about YOU?

1. I admire the fact that the repukes threw everything they could at her |
|
and she was still elected to the Senate. Whatever else you may say about her, she's not going to wilt under republican fire.

She is one tough person who will not flinch or hold punching back when attacked. She will take the war room theory to a new level to win. And win is what Democrats must do in 2008.

over the course of her career.
You're right, we should have threads like this each week - it's like a big ol' group hug. :grouphug:

given that I'll be in Spain (Costa del Sol) and I won't take my laptop with me. So, the same question, "What do you admire the most about________________?" Pick two candidates and let's see what people have to say about them!
I'm glad you like the idea.

Too funny. I'll be in Barcelona for 5 weeks starting this Wednesday. But I'll have my computer with me so I'll probably be able to do it.

she doesn't quit. In 2000, anybody would've forgiven her for retiring from public life after what she'd been put through.
But she didn't - she ran for the Senate from one of the toughest states in the country - and handed that little twerp, Lazio, his ass.
She fights back.

I think Chelsea has grown into a better person than both of her parents, partially in spite of their upbringing.
If Chelsea runs for political office someday, I'd consider supporting her. Let's just hope she doesn't use her parents' cronies and handlers.

We need a candidate that not only has good ideas but can get them through congress. Even within our own party we've got a diverse group of ideologies. You throw in the Repugs in the legislature and you need a president who can bring practice the art of politics well enough to get our agenda through. She's demonstrated in the Senate that she can do the one on one arm twisting and coalition building to accomplish that.

First and foremost I admire the fact she ran for the Senate when she could have retired to a good life with Bill. I would have been tempted to do just that.
She does her homework to an extent that is simply amazing. She is a very underestimated campaigner and has been a revelation in the debates. She could be President from day 1.
I like the fact that she is a woman. It is fitting our party be the first one to elect a woman to the White House.
