Was Vitter apologetic before he got caught.... |
|
Was he repentant before the numbers were released...
Just like all the other Convenience Christians out there, he fessed up his "sin" only when he had too and came to an understanding with Jesus only when it suits his agenda...
Give me that old time religion...
At least as practiced by the right...
Maybe we should just start calling them the Wrong...
Cause that's the only political direction they are going to have if this keeps up...

1. Maybe he was repentant privately. |
|
I don't like these hypocrites any more than you. I have been laughing all day.
But someone here mentioned having an affair, and the torment they suffered over it. I am sure he or she was repentant. I would be repenting, privately.

2. how dare you confuse us with facts? Why can't you understand that |
|
the standards that govern Abstinence promoters, christian conservatives, and GOPers who run on strong family values platforms, DON'T HAVE THE SAME STANDARDS TO MEET? In other words, we can't apply our rules to them. They, however, can apply their book of fairy tales to us, even if we don't believe their collection of fables.

Doesn't have one solid conscience among them ~ imo they're faux Christian con-artists, as full of shit as a midsummer's day is long!

If you cheat on your S.O., what do you do? Feel sorry privately (assuming that you didn't think it was the best thing since sliced bread)? Do you tell your S.O. in contrition?
And if you do either of these things, do you make it public, telling your family, your friends, your co-workers that you were unfaithful?
Wouldn't "I didn't need to know that" be the proper response, until it became a public matter? I mean, I understand Sheehan--she didn't stop her son from signing up again and has decided that everybody wants to share her grief; some people are like her. Few, fortunately, decide that I care about their personal life and want to share their pain. By and large, I choose who's pain I want to share; I don't want to share Sheehan's, I don't want to share Vitter's.
Perspective's needed, not just thinking of everything in terms of votes mingled with an oddly quixotic additon of notions of absolute right and wrong.

12. It's all about the hypocrisy... |

Al about the sanctimonious being held to what they say...
It isn't even about fidelity...
I would make it an issue if someone said they were an environmentalist but secretly drove Hummers through fragile landscapes...
