I have to say I'm pretty shocked by this..:wow: I figured Edwards would be the one to beat. Virginia is likely to be a swing state, so if Obama appears poised to be able to win it, this makes me sit up and notice!

1. I keep saying that Edwards isn't the "Southerner's Southerner"
and no one here seems to believe me. Southerners aren't all that fond of personal injury attorneys (unless they need one, of course) and the white male swing voter in these parts don't much care for, their words, "pretty boys."

I would expect Obama to do better in the South than Edwards, to be honest. That said, I think any of our current candidates will have a hard road to hoe in any Southern state in the general election.
