Anyone know whey these headlines are different?
Headline on Yahoo homepage:
"Plane diverted due to suspicious passenger"
Headline of article once selected:
AA flight diverted to NY in "misunderstanding"
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070712/ts_nm/flight_diverted_dcI've seen this several times on Yahoo homepage (maybe it happens elsewhere??). It seems like the initial headline might be intended to incite unnecessary fear and remind us of 9/11 while the 2nd headline clearly points out that the issue was a misunderstanding. This happens alot when the two headlines differ. Maybe someone is hoping the initial fear raised by the initial headline is enough to keep us in line--especially with *'s sad polling #s and increasing defects from the repub party.
Kucinich's comment about the admin playing the "fear card" made me even more suspicious.
