Be careful out there, when impeachment starts, the real war starts.
Attacking before you have an exit strategy, foolish. Attacking before you have supply lines and emergency supplies, insane. Attacking before you have made sure your allies are with you, assures failure.

Cheney will not go down without a fight. If any suspicions are true, the tactics he might resort to are quite likely to be extreme.

John Conyers is a brave and brilliant man. He has shown dedication to decent government. If he does not feel ready to wage war, maybe, just maybe he needs to line up a few more forces.

I have great respect for Cindy, her passion matters. I am all for Impeachment now. I am raging every day that our constitution, honor, future and dreams are being trod upon. But Cindy is not the general that Conyers is. We should all be with her. But perhaps in a different office.

We should all be telling our representatives, that this is the fight. We will know what side they are on, forever, when we see what side they take on this fight. We will remember the deeds, we will remember who stayed with the traitors and helped them to desecrate all that our forefathers bled for. We will remember who stood in these dark days and faced the chicken hawks, deserters, war profiteers and traitors.

When the battle starts we are likely to see the media show who they really are. When the battle starts we are likely to see emergencies. When the battle starts, we are likely to see evidence dug up by illegal wire taps, computer espionage and teams of forgery experts. When the battle starts, we may well see the strategies our nation has used on 'enemy nations' being used right here.

You can count on the fact that Cheney and Rove have planned for this battle. Depend on the possibility that all the money that has faded away, and all the favors to the powerful and wealthy may be called back into play.

Do not assume that a majority of votes alone will win this fight. When this battle starts, they will be united.

We too must be ready. If we cannot stay united for Cindy and for Conyers, then we may be in for a very rough time.

2. Good post
and lots of food for thought.

I have no doubt that these scumbags will go nuclear when they hear the clank of Johnny law's handcuffs coming for them. But I am also convinced that only the clank of Johny Law's handcuffs will get rid of them.

You are wise to not underestimate your opponent...we do need to have lots of contingency plans because these men are evil and wil not hesitate to use the levers of power against their own people.

But it is hard to discuss these matters rationally with all of the name-calling and screaming, don't you think?

5. Thanks and yes.
That is the entire point of this post. We need to be very careful and the screaming does not help.

I think that you can bank on the possibility of an agent or two embedded in Cindy's ranks. The Republicans have already been caught spying on the Democratic computer files. Not even a slap on the hand has resulted. I think it would be very wise to be careful.

I still rage, that we were assured that Kerry had teams of lawyers watching the polls, ready to catch theft. We were told to relax and trust them. So I am not saying trust them.

I am not saying here that we need to sit and trust that someone else will take care of things. No, this is not a good time to be complacent. I am saying we need to be careful and wise. Bush and his entire team, each one of them, have knowingly lied and stood by lies while thousands and thousands of people have died. They have profited and profiteered with every 'mistake' they have made.

Stay careful and wise.

4. Something to think of
Fear raises it's ugly head again. Cheney has always had that effect with the sneer. Has anyone seen him or is he in his usual undisclosed location for the duration.

6. That is a good point.

Cheney hates to be stuck in place. An impeachment would tend to lock him down. I suspect he will have 'medical issues' or some other event arise the moment serious questioning starts.

I also suspect that Bush will try a move to have the questioning kept to a small group and out of our eyes, "For security reasons."

A handful of questioners could delay actual evidence reaching us, while the honest questioners were discredited in the public eye.

Bush may also try to prevent an impeachment. I have no idea what anti-constitutional twist they may come up with. But it may literally become a showdown between enforcement, with FOX News screaming about the attack on the President.

7. I'm in to the last battle
I've been in the Gulag for 25 years now. I don't want to see others have the same experiences that I went through.

These perpeTRAITORS must be defeated and put away for a long time at hard labor.

I'd like to see them do their time in in a place like this:

9. They will talk unity until the pain starts
when they realize that they are collapsing the economy with agitations, the last of the paleocons and the security moms will peel off, and the theocons and neocons will be each citing their reason why they are in charge.

About that point is when the counter revolution will start in earnest. the exurban/rural theocons will find that their greater reliance on fuel stocks (ironic that in the 19th C, the countryside could hold out on the cities. But no one has successfully blockaded a city since WW2.

I don't count Berlin in the 60s.

The retro-warriors will discover how incredibly fun trying to assault a city in vehicles can be. I expect the historians will refer to conflicts with names like-- the battle of the I-94 business loop-- in future texts.

10. I have lost all hope that any of us will see Bush or Cheney impeached for anything.
Impeachment evidently IS just for blowjobs.

11. the bottom line on impeachment is this . . .
if they don't do it soon, they may well not be able to do it at all . . . Bush is not issuing these deplorable Executive Orders to benefit some future president . . . he intends to use them, and when he does he will make Congress null and void . . . and those who speak out against him will be subject to arrest and imprisonment, with no right of habeus corpus . . .

act now, Congress . . . while you still can . . .
