I really don't have a problem with Hillary or Obama. |

I think either of them would make a fine president and I would support them if they were the nominee.
But the self-appointed spinmeisters who are cluttering up the DU-sphere with a barrage of sleaze...
You are not doing your candidate any favors.
:puke:
edit: the first one to thank me for my concern gets a cupie doll! I don't really give a shit, I just thought y'all might like an outside perspective.

1. Indeed, it's as much the supporters as the candidates that will help me determine |

2. Well, it took me awhile to figure out why they left a bad taste in my mouth. |

Thankfully, it's not the candidates themselves.

6. Oh well, maybe just a tad |
|
If he ran, I'd have to think about it, let's put it that way.
Meanwhile, I just don't know what to do with myself candidate-wise since Kerry's not running. I have GOT to sit down with all the issue papers I printed out and just study up on these folks. Last time I went with someone whom I thought sounded good, then only discovered I liked the nominee after I made myself look into him a bit. I'd rather not back into this decision like I did the last time.

8. I'd like for Edwards to get the nomination BUT |
|
I suppose since I think Democrats should be above the bashing and slamming of their own candidates, I sort of lost a lot of respect for Obama. And actually it isn't his fault because people who are supporting him are being negative and bashing Hillary because she is so far ahead of him. I thought at first they would cancel each other out and Edwards would take off. But I never bashed the other candidates.

9. Not everybody that "bashes" Hillary is an Obama supporter. |
|

But you wouldn't know that unless you spend a lot of time here and become pretty familiar with who supports who.
The thing is this: Everytime *anybody* bashes Clinton some Hillary lapdog yips back at that poster some counter-attack on Obama. So they're making it APPEAR as though it's always an Obama supporter doing the "bashing."
The truth is that very few actual Obama supporters go off on Hillary. Most of the people who go off on her are people who don't care for Obama either. But like I said, the Hillary brat-pack devised a scheme to make it look like it's always an Obama person by retorting some mention about Obama.
I can't even count anymore how many times various posters have had to respond to the retort that "I'm NOT an Obama supporter." But the Hillary supporters as well as 1 Edwards-supporter-yet-still-bizarrely-a-Hillary-supporter-group-lap-dog never stop this tactic.
And it looks like their strategy worked.

Have you noticed the people who are bashing Obama are Edwards supporters, because they hope to knock him out "so Edwards would take off". In fact, your post bashing Obama supporters IS a veiled bash of Obama. You're going to have to be a bit more clever next time.

13% points at this time is nothing. Just ask Lieberman and Dean.

There are certain supporters of *ahem* a couple politicians that are hopelessly (and inappropriately) wrapped up emotionally in their very being. This kind of bizarre (and inappropriate) posturing continues through yet another primary. Same old, same old: Brow-beating, finger-wagging, caustic rhetoric. Either jump on board or you will be vilified. It's tough not to succumb to the concentrated effort and run screaming from the room.

12. I really think the Clintons would be awful |
|
And I really wish people around here would take their damn blinders off.
There's only a few other Democrats who would be as bad as the Clintons, Lieberman and Ben Nelson come to mind. There's probably a few others. But if Hillary is elected, nothing is going to change. We'll just get a happier face on very nearly the same destructive policies.

but I really have a difficult time with a couple of Obama supporters here who are ruthless toward Hillary. There are also a few Hillary supporters who spew Obama trash on a daily basis. I totally agree with you and also have a hard time figuring how anyone who trashes another candidate thinks this is productive for who they support. It is possible to have a favorite candidate without hating all the others and fortunately we do see that here too, but perhaps not often enough.

There are people here who are warning about the Clintons regardless of who they support for a candidate. I know Edwards supporters who hate the Clintons too.

Posturing is bad strategy. Keep doing it if it makes you feel good and whips up the true believers, but it does not help your candidate win support from undecideds.
