The "I don't know a single HRC supporter in real life" statement |
|
Kind of reminds me of the "It was really cold yesterday therefore global warming must not exist" statement.

2. Why is this such a hard concept for you. I don't know anyone in my |
|
life that supports HRC. I've never compared that with global warming... get a life. And anyone that does support her, I'd say I don't know well enough to know their political views or their true values in life.

I know five other Democrats. None of them like HRC, although all of us will vote for her if she's the Dem candidate.
I don't think that I'm "hanging around with the wrong people" since my other option is to hang around with people who want Bush to have a third term.
Edit: P.S. I'm not denying that there are HRC supporters in the world, it's just that I don't happen to know any. I suspect that would be different if I lived in a blue state. I just don't want the HRC camp to hate on me just because I support Edwards and I don't know anyone who supports HRC.

I know quite a few Edwards supporters, too. I only know one person in FL who's supporting Obama, but he's registered as an Independent and can't vote in the primaries (interestingly enough, he also really likes McCain). I do know quite a few Obama supporters from other states, however.

Just talked to my sister on the phone the other day... she said she was torn between McCain & Edwards! Not too many for Obama here either! But MOSTLY Edwards and I'm not sure why.
I live in a Repuke county, many have money, Hollywood stars come here a lot. I myself don't have money.

because this is a poor area and they all doubt a corporatist will do a damned thing for them. They are also disgusted that she'd keep us in Iraq.

16. I compare it to the global warming statement because |
|
People who don't believe in global warming, think their own perception of temperature is more reliable than scientific data. I compare that to people who think there is no such thing as a Hillary supporter, because they have never met one.

The secret behind the Hillary supporters on DU? We're all really just one person, masquerading as different people (to the point where we even have conversations with ourselves, like I'm doing right now!) to throw off all the other DUers. Our name in real life? Howard Wolfson.

who I assumed were Obama, or maybe Edwards supporters. They support HRC, but they like Obama. Like many other HRC supporters who don't feel it is necessary to indicate their support of HRC in front of those people who are obviously supporting him, I don't feel the need to express it publically either. Obama's candidacy is historic and compelling. Democrats have several truly solid options this time around. No need to step on anyone's hopes or affections at this point, especially when evil, unrestrained, cynical liars have so much control of this country.

29. None of my family or friends support her candidacy in the primaries. |
|
My family save my 21 year old nephew: Edwards. My nephew and myself, Kucinich. Most of my colleagues, Kucinich as well.
The handful of former Republicans who rapidly turned tail about 2004 or so, I don't know. They are still traumatized over the caliber of candidates the Republicans have come up with.
To paraphrase my nephew: "Why would anyone not want Kucinich to be president? I don't want to get drafted and go to Iranistan and would really like a job that has dental when I get out of school."
But then my family is directly related to Claude "Red" Pepper, the famous senator/rep. from Florida, the Newest New Dealer of them all, great pal of Uncle Joe Stalin and all. . . and my colleagues are all in higher ed, so maybe that splains a lot.

I'm definitely not saying they don't exist, I've seen them first hand at rallies ( unions bussed people in for her speech and then bussed them out  )but I do not personally know and Hilary supporters. I know many Obama and Edwards and some Kucinich but simply no HRC supporters. Is she my first choice...not so much but I have nothing against her; if she wins the primary I'll vote for her in a second just like any other democrat.

|
Personally, I haven't met a person in person saying they are voting for her. Of course people will vote for her. It is just surprising to me. I meet an awful lot of Democrats. For me not to notice that no one I encoutner is excited about her is not myth, but what I encounter. I meet people who like Obama, Edwards, Kuccinich, even Biden, but when I mention Clinton they generally make a face, sigh, and say she'll probably be the candidate. There's just no real excitement.
To equate this reaction to the crisis in global warming is an insult to the word hyperbole.
