theres a poll on Channel 3 ...middle column... 1/2 way down:
http://www.kcra.com/news/index.html

Note you can vote more than once--must've been designed by Diebold!

Debra Bowen will be announcing before midnight if she is decertifying the machines or not, press conference to be aired momentarily...Bradblog has the link up.

3. We're all on pins and needles.
Law just says she has to sign by midnight. But her office sent an update out late tonight saying there would be an 11:45 press conference outside the Secretary of State's office. Bradblog will probably be first to have it; the station running the poll is also supposed to post the news at their site as soon as the news is in.

Wonder why the late hour?

Maybe she figures she'd better do this under cover of darkness once those GOP thugs hear what she's done!

Edited on Sat Aug-04-07 02:25 AM by xxqqqzme
gonna go look @ CASoS site http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_vsr.htm Top to Bottom Review....nothing there either

It is up on the SoS website under top to bottom review tab

There are 40 conditions diebold must meet - It is too late for me to read it all tonight but in perusing, it didn't look very tough....I hope I'm wrong. Didn't peruse the other systems.

It is on bradblog now as well. I'm off to bed. I'll see how screwn we are tomorrow.

10. Bradblog has some info up now.
http://www.bradblog.com/

Listening to a poor cell phone coverage of Bowen's announcement for recertification plans for CA voting systems. Transcribing as I can. Joined late (will clean up the following as we can clarify)....

missed beginning of conference, joining late...

100% manual count for diebold and sequoia DREs.
One machine per polling place.

ES&S InkaVote Plus (as used in Los Angeles County)
ES&S ignored my March demand to submit source code. ES&S eventually submitted source code to late for t2b review. Therefore, "I am decertifying the InkaVote Plus without recertification."

Voters are victims of federal certification process that has not done a job of assuring machines are accurate, accessible, secure.

I reject suggestion that I should not make changes to voting systems simply because of cost...When NASA finds a problem, they don't continue just because they've already spent the money. They scrub the mission and spend the money to get it right. We must do same with elections.

Paper ballots are simply easier to understand by voters.

Had federal testing been done on source code, it could have made a great difference.

DEVELOPING...
