I Think Kucinich Won This Debate - A Poll On DU Show He Won It Hands Down.....
I hear he is unelectable - but today he showed me something that I never picked up on before as I was enamored by Obama. The question is - how do we make Kucinich 'electable'. What can we do to help Kucinich? How can we get more people to recognize him and all his qualities?

To me he is really for the people and the only candidate that has the courage of his convictions and says what he feels - not what he's expected to say.

Any suggestions?

24. A shirt that actually FITS would help
Nobody's going to elect a 12-year old to the White House. And that is what DK looked like with his sleeves too long and his collar swallowing up his neck. Even Dukakis' shirts fit him properly.

5. Get people to understand that the candidates the MSM keep in front of the public eye
are the ones we do NOT want to vote for. They are promoting them as the top candidates constantly. That's whom they have chosen THEY want to run. They are part of the corporate media. You do not want to vote for the ones they are promoting.

4. Here's what I'm doing
I'm telling my friends about his stands on the issues. One to one. I know these folks, know what they like and don't like-and know that they will like what Kucinich is offering. I've really been pressing his health care plans. Sicko isn't showing anywhere near where I live, so I've gotten some copies made to give to folks who otherwise wouldn't see it. I've found it to be a great opener when talking about Kucinich.

And if anyone says he's "unelectable", ask them where they got that idea--was it, perhaps, from the idiot box? Then consider the source. Dennis can come in under the radar with the grassroots working for him.

23. It isn't
it is available on the internet. I felt bad about downloading it until I heard MM said it was ok as long as you don't sell it. We aren't. We just can't find ANY theaters around showing it, and we feel it important to get out the word, so we have passed around our copy we made--of course for free. It inspired one person, who has a national mailing list a mile long, to encourage everyone on the list to go see it, so I think I helped MM out in the long run, as the person and her list aren't necessarily the usual MM audience.

6. We write or call his campaign...
to let them know that he needs to keep doing whatever he did tonight. As a 6 year Kucinich fan, this is the first time he's had that Presidential vibe (or whatever it is that the mainstream culture needs to see to believe a person is 'Presidential')

8. There was a post earlier today that put Kucinich at 53% in a blind poll
The poll was based on issues alone without reference to candidate. Based on the issues, Kucinich's platform matched 53% and the closest on both sides of the aisle was about 28%. If people could get past the media frame and actually knew the platform and history of the candidates, I think he would do even better. Just call me an idealistic, delusional dreamer.

18. He was very impressive. I watched part of the debate with a moderate Democrat who
kept saying, "Everything he says is so good--of course, he can't win." It's too bad we have allowed ourselves to be brainwashed into anointing Chris Matthews and other mouthpieces of the oligarchy as our gatekeepers.

20. How do we make Kucinich "electable"????
Edited on Wed Aug-08-07 09:41 AM by Totally Committed
The same way we make Clinton "electable".

The same way we make Obama "electable".

These two candidates are arguably considered electable right now. It has not always been so here in this Party. I think it's ironic that a candidate's sex or color of skin is less of an electability issue at this point than a white man's HEIGHT. I'm also not sure it's not just an "excuse" being used by "the powers that be" to convince us not to "waste our vote" on an "unelectable" candidate who just happens to have the most honestly genuine Progressive set of issues in this campaign, thusfar.

At any rate, I was extremely impressed by Kucinich last night. If we didn't live in an age of superficiality and "image", I believe the "unelectability" issue would be a lot harder to press in his case. Maybe we need to stop listening to whom we are told is "unelectable", and vote for the best person for the job no matter the sex, the race, or the height... or haircut, or age, or WHATEVER.

If we want electeds who will vote their consciences for us, we need to vote our consciences for them.

TC

22. Actually, I was thinking more of the corporate wing and "leadership" of the Democratic Party first,
and the Corporate-owned MSM second. But, it's also the "Infotainment" industry as well. Paris, Britney, TomKat, Brangelina.... It used to be if it didn't "bleed", it didn't lead the newscasts. Now, if it ain't all "image" or "celebrity", it gets reported or read last.

That's all I meant. It's a shame, too.

TC
