Rove steps up attacks on Clinton; Obama advisers believe this is part of a plot to help HRC
Edited on Thu Aug-16-07 10:36 AM by draft_mario_cuomo
So Rove now supports Clinton according to those who call HRC Bush-Cheney-lite? Does this mean that when right-wingers criticize Obama, like Mitt Romney has been doing consistently lately, it is because they want him to win the nomination because he would be easier to beat? Or is this perverse standard applied only to Clinton, a woman who right-wingers hate more than probably any other living soul in America?

==Karl Rove intensified his attack on Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton yesterday, saying she lacked the vision to be president while saying she was “so weak” on national security and support for the armed forces.

Mr. Rove, President Bush’s political adviser, has been criticizing Mrs. Clinton since Monday, when he announced his intention to resign from the White House and coupled it with candid analysis, notably, calling Mrs. Clinton a “fatally flawed” presidential candidate.

Mrs. Clinton, of New York, and her advisers have denounced the attacks while privately welcoming them, hopeful that Mr. Rove, a bête noire to Democrats, will spur liberal skeptics of Mrs. Clinton to rally to her.

Advisers to Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, a Clinton rival, conjecture that Mr. Rove is trying to help Mrs. Clinton win the Democratic presidential nomination because, this thinking goes, she would be easier to beat than Mr. Obama.==

7. Why Why Why
Why would anything Karl Rove said be of interest to anyone?
He failed at everything he tried to do except the criminal activities that got GW elected. He's a failure.
Those who call him a genius are either paid by the RNC or have never met a true genius. He is devoid of any lawful talents. Besides being a soft, fat, cowardly little toad who lacks social skills.

That's my opinion. I think I still have the right to it. We'll see.

13. Isn't that the truth. He is going to be on Meet the Press this weekend.
:puke:

His little goodbye statement with Georgie just emphasized how nice it was when he didn't speak much publicly. He literally makes my skin crawl.

8. limbaugh is right, they are all comedians
So per rove and limbaugh, bush is strong on national security (while destroying our Army because of his lack of leadership and management skills) and support for the armed forces (while cutting VA aid, increasing medical fees for the families of military personnel and reducing proposed pay raises for ACDU personnel - support, my ass.)

And of course bush is not fatally flawed. He's just a fucking genious. You have to be real smart to get the people who voted for bush to vote for him and put his stickers on their vehicles, but I digress

The hate right wing trash have for Mrs Clinton is one of her assets for sure.

12. Yep, and it isn't going to work...

All we have to do is follow the money to see that Hillary Clinton is
bought and paid for. She's a corporatist and she's done NOTHING to
stop the BushCo train wreck that is destroying our nation, our democracy
and our civil rights.

Where is Hillary on torture? Where is she on illegal wiretapping?
How does she feel about our civil rights being trampled by the Patriot
Act? How does she feel about signing statements? The pResident's
ability to declare Marshall Law if someone in Cleveland gets a hangnail?

We don't know the answer to these questions, because HRC has been nearly
silent on these issues. Each and every regular DU poster has spoke more
passionately and more often about these issues, than she has. She's
part of the mess. Her silence = compliance.

Karl Rove feigning pseudo outrage over HRC does not work. Her nonexistent
outrage as our nation slides into a dictatorship--trumps Rove's one-act
play.

Dennis Kucinich routinely gets press for expressing his outrage. Where
is Hillary? Oh yeah, she did refuse to denounce her Iraq war vote. She
blathered on and on and found her voice about that. She also very publicly
agreed with Bush that "war with Iran is not off the table". I've heard more
from HRC on war with Iran, than I have about her stance on Bush usurping FISA to spy on
American citizens or her views on Habeas being dead in the water.

Nuf said. Anyone who supports her supports the unAmerican, perverse, bought-
and-paid-for sellouts who have stolen our government.

Rove doesn't like Hillary. Oh please. Not all of us just fell
off of the turnip truck.

Edited on Thu Aug-16-07 10:51 AM by displacedtexan
Frankly, what pisses me off most about this article is how it makes Rove (who pulls crap out of his ass and flings it randomly) look strong and both Dems look petty.

Got any actual campaign news, NYT?

Edited to add another s to Rove's ass

17. Of course they [RNC] wants Clinton
Limbaugh and his ilk have been bashing Hillary for about 15 years now. They have about 15 years of hatred already invested in her. They can use chauvinist code words like "shrill" "emotional" "hysterical" to cut her down, usually without a backlash from female republicans. They can use the hatred they manufactured against Bill Clinton to their advantage.

If Obama gets the nomination, they will have to go through the costs of retooling. They will be essentially starting from scratch. They might not be able to get away with smearing an African American as well as a Caucasion Woman.

18. Who the Hell are the idiots taking that mother fucker seriously?
I mean, if anyone is listening to Rove enough to decide one way or the other who he would rather face or what he would rather do, that person needs to be slapped hard aside the head repeatedly until they come to their senses. Rove wouldn't understand the standards by which we choose our leaders in the first place. He wouldn't agree with them if he did. He doesn't have an honest or virtuous bone in his body. He created George W Bush out of thin air. What kind of fucking moron gives a shit what he's trying to do?

Obama, I love you man, but you need to figure out which adviser made that dumb-ass comment and fire him, delete his number from your cell phone, and block all future calls from him. Hell, fire anyone who nodded when he said it, and fire anyone who doesn't spit when they say his name. He's the reason you are falling in the polls--he's worrying more about the nuances of the motives of the number one enemy of all that is good and righteous in the world, rather than helping you promote a winning message. That adviser is your enemy, and all our enemies.

... to Clinton says Rove's attacks help her. To which "alleged" advisors to Obama respond, maybe that's what he wants to do.

I want the shit these political consultants are smoking.
