PA DUers - anyone see the Specter-Kerry commercial?
it compares specter's voting to Kerry and "accuses" specter of being TOO LIBERAL and as a spendthrift

unbelievable -- we were just dumbstruck for a few moments...

what do you think? is specter a RINO?

1. specter is a decent moderate republican
something you don't see much in the republican party these days. he isn't a as liberal as they claim though.he is no lincoln chafee who is more a RINO. specter is usually good on social issues like civil rights. i remember him defending gays on cspan. specter defended arab and muslim americans against attacks also, he said as a jewish person he knows how these things are bad.

3. "Decent"...?
Anyone remember his savaging of Anita Hill during the Thomas hearings (you remember, the process that produced the deciding vote of the 2000 selection)? If that's "decent," I'd hate to see what qualifies as "unprincipled"...

For some people, respect for civil rights and insistence on non-discrimination does not extend to women.

I hope he has issued apologies for his abominable behavior and taken steps to remedy not only what he did at that time but to act on behalf of eliminating sexism since that time.

5. i don't know about this
i admit, i don't know about this. i was about 12 when this was going on so don't remember the specifics of the case. if specter was as bad as you say, i hope he has changed on that.

6. I saw it. Kinda gives us an idea of how their going to define Kerry.
By saying Specter is as "as bad as Kerry" they are saying that it is a matter of fact that Kerry is bad.

Also, the old "liberal as a dirty word" ploy.

Kerry is going to have to go after them hard - offense all the way if he is going to have a prayer in PA.
