Take a Stand in KC - pictures - AWESOME TURNOUT!!

We had 109 people show up to Take a Stand and get the message out that this war needs to end. We have been holding rallies at this particular intersection every Tuesday for over 4 years now. Before tonight, the largest rally we had was attended by 45 people.

We had 109 people come tonight!!

It was just awesome. So many new faces; so many people sick of the war and mad enough to stand at a busy intersection during rush hour and TAKE A STAND!

That's in the 44th state Congressional District, represented by Jenee Lowe (D).

It's in the 10th State Senate District, represented by Jolie Justus (D).

Granted they might be driven by Brooksiders, but even the expensive looking cars you see driving on Ward Parkway are more likely to have lefty bumperstickers than righty ones.

The inhabitants of the cheesy plantation-style mansions on Ward Parkway may be Republican, but I get the sense that the residents on the side streets are the sorts of folks the "latté liberal" caricature is based. Hell, if I had a lot of bank, I'd consider living in one of those Tudor-style houses between Ward Parkway and Wornall.

Did you notice that? I commented to several other vigilers and they all said it's because there is no draft, or the "kids" would be taking the streets.

Of course, the only ones who drove by and shouted their disapproval all seemed to be enlistment aged men. :eyes:

42. I finally figured out where the pics were taken!

I knew it was Ward Parkway!!!! Great shots and I'm so proud. I used to go to UMKC and have lots of family (mother included) living in KC. My Mom moved to Lee's Summit from Springfield last year where my brother lives. I live in Texas. I moved back to Texas several years ago from Overland Park. I miss the trees and the camraderie....
