Edwards and Richardson Supporters: Who Would You Choose Between Clinton and Obama? |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-29-07 08:37 AM by ludwigb
I'm interested in which of the 2 front runners would benefit more from Edwards and/or Richardson leaving the race. And why?
First Count: Hillary: 4 Obama: 2

1. Clinton, I know she can do the job and manage the economy. |
|
Despite the baggage, she has a better chance in November too because of her aggressive campaign management.

Edwards and Obama so maybe I'm not the best sample. I'm waiting to see how things shake out. I'm in PA so my vote will probably be a novelty anyway.

3. I have problems with both |

Hillary seems to be campaigning by taking the position that offends the least number of people. Perhaps that is the right way for the leader to run . . . but I want some meat from her . . . not the riding-th-fence positions that I keep hearing.
Obama's lack of experience seems to surface more and more each week.
But if Edwards left the campaign I would probably lean toward Hillary.

4. I support Edwards but would also support Clinton even though |

I would like to see an African American president. I read Obama's "Audacity of Hope" and agreed with his views on just about everything. However, some of his campaign statements I feel were inadvised and I felt that if elected at this point he might stumble on some international issues, ruining his administration. He needs more "prime time" experience which Hillary certainly has.

5. I'd like Clark/Richardson - But I'll support Clinton |

I want someone who will beat the GOP into the ground. Clinton's the only candidate (running) that can do that.

I agree with Zbigniew Brzezinski on a choice between Obama and Clinton:
“There is a need for a fundamental rethinking of how we conduct world affairs, and Obama seems to me to have both the guts and the intelligence to address that issue and to change the nature of America’s relationship with the world."
He called Mrs. Clinton’s foreign policy “very conventional.” “I don’t think the country needs to go back to what we had eight years ago.”

7. I won't be faced with this decision. |

My main man, John Edwards, will be in at least until after the Iowa Caucuses, at which point I will already have cast my primary vote for him.

but would prefer Obama to Clinton. I am less concerned about the experience issue than about business as usual.

But I suppose if they were the only two running and I had to choose between the two I'd go Hillary just on proven campaign ability. I don't think there's enough distance between them on substantive policy issues to make the choice on that criterion.
It's more than possible that Obama's more diplomatic approach might make him a better president, but you have to win the damn thing first.

She is more electable than Obama and has the experience to be an effective president. Even if Obama won he probably would not be a good president.

I feel Obama has a lot to learn and seems a littletoo moderate for me on issues like the environment and Social security. I will not vote for either in the primary, neither is liberal enough, Some days I support Dennis , some days Edwards, etc

Tough as nails; experienced; savvy politically.
Obama is too much of a wild-card. And I think he'd get pushed around a lot.
