"The Vitter thing, that's like ancient history now"
Fascinating and hilarious article in the NYT today, some republican "strategist" expressing frustration at all this republican sex and money scandals stuff.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/29/us/politics/29repubs.html?_r=1&th&emc=th&oref=slogin

He's confident ANOTHER REPUBLICAN SCANDAL WILL SOON COME ALONG to sweep larry craig off the front page.

Oh and did you know that people like vitter and craig don't share the values of their base in the "heartland."

Yes, they are all comedians.

2. Compounding the tragedy
they have perpetrated on our country. They either lash out blaming someone else or just laugh off their failings and crime.

4. Excellent Point My Dear
The article went to great pains to bring up Jefferson (D) but it was almost as if, well, we brought up one dem name, now what?

6. Republicans will embrace Vitter because a democrat is governor in Louisana
Edited on Wed Aug-29-07 03:05 PM by LynneSin
They have too much to lose if they lose one more seat. Another democrat would basically nullify Lieberman

7. I hope Louisiana still has a Dem Governor
after the election this November. Lil shit bobby jindal is the frontrunner but he will most likely be forced into a runoff in an open primary. And his departure from the congress may free up a seat for the dems. A lot of things have to turn out just right for him to lose both the governorship and his seat to a Dem.
