I mean as far as we know Larry Craig only attempted to solicit sex whereas David Vitter actually paid a prostitute to help live out his diaper fetish.

This is just another hypocrisy of the republican party. If Idaho had a democratic governor you better believe that the repukes would embrace Craig despite all his flaws. But they have nothing to lose going after Craig whereas they will lose one more senate seat if they went after Vitter.
