Norman Hsu has given MILLIONS to Democrats.
Large sums to not only Clinton, but the DNC and various DNC entities and candidates. The DSCC, Emily's List, Eliot Spitzer, Jim Webb, Andrew Cuomo, John Kerry, The Tenn. Democratic Party, Al Franken, and Barack Obama to name a few.

Some sums were larger than others. But none of the amounts were peanuts. And no comparison of sums makes one more guilty or innocent than another. If the money is dirty, it's dirty no matter how much or little was taken.

Now, you're telling me you want to take this rightwing hit on Hillary Clinton and turn it into some kind of Clinton purge out of spite? Because I guarantee you if you give the GOP fuel for this, NO ONE who has touched Hsu money escapes looking good. And the list will grow the more people dig.

1. wyld, let's relax and see how all of this unfolds. Life is too short to be worrying about
things we have no control of.

3. I have to disagree Katz. This needs forceful response.
This is a hit on Democrats and its an attempt to make the various GOP crimes and shenanigans equivalent.

You see it already with William Jefferson down in LA. The GOP has had how many Congressman and Senators in trouble for corruption in the last two years? Yet every single article about them makes mention of Jefferson ....for balance.

4. I believe this thing will have little or no impact on any of our candidates.
The GOP is destroying itself, and people are paying much more attention to that than to Hsu.

7. I know but its better to nip this in the bud.
Clinton & Obama are returning the money which is good.

But we also need to counterattack.

2. Drop in the bucket compared
to Perry, who funds SwiftLiars and the California GOP Electoral Vote Grab, and Scaife, who funded Paula Jones and the Clinton impeachment.

Drop in the bucket. Just mention the real numbers and you see this guy's a nobody. The media covers it like it covered the Buddhist monks, compared to Jack Abramoff.

As you can see from this week, adulterers and whoremongers and bathroom sex-seekers are AOK in the Republican party of morals...as long as they express hatred of gay people and a woman's right to choose.

5. Difference being the MSM has picked THIS story up!
Seems like the story is going to turn into an anti-Democrat story, unlike the California Electoral vote grab or the fundraisers behind Clinton's impeachment.

6. If this crook HAD millions to give, I can pretty much guarantee you
he gave WAY more to Repubicans than Dems.

9. As far as I can tell on a quick search, it's all Dems
My single source for this is "Newsmeat" and I can't vouch for it really.
But with a name like newsmeat, it hardly exudes a serious air, I must admit)
Not a rightwing site, at any rate...

10. Agreed: Spreading a story to give GOP ammo is laying groundwork for them.
There is too much of that on DU, coming from the hardcore advocates who post short, mean and small minded little snipes back and forth. They spread rumors and smack down any in "another gang" that can't resist popping by to pop off on the issue. Clouds of dust, and everyone is weaker for it.

Worst of all, it can help to lay groundwork for "character" narratives and "trail of scandals" that haunt the candidate in the general.
The facts hardly matter at all, at that point, which makes it hard to fight.

Thanks for your efforts in adding some perspective on all this. I hope to see more of this from you.

11. Thank you. I've been floored by the how many DUers are ignoring the fact
that this man has donated to many, MANY dems, not just HRC. And, that this has been known all along.

Selective intelligence is alive and well.
