I just proudly voted for Howard Dean |
|
In my ward I was the 1,299th voter of the day. What a great feeling it was to vote for someone I truly and totally believe in and without an ounce of guilt. The odds of Dean being our nominee are not good, but that doesn't change the fact that he is on my ballot and he is the man who stood up to Bush on the war and a variety of other issues. I owed Howard Dean my vote because he represents me.
As for how Wisconsin will turn out. I don't know. I know Drudge has some exit poll information which is not very good and in my estimation not very accurate and probably as accurate as the Kerry rumors he was spreading.
Now this is what I saw today in Madison. Lots of Dean volunteers and visibility. Phone calls to people, signs up everywhere--and I mean everywhere, canvassers hitting the streets. Dean has inspired a hell of alot of people and he deserves credit for what he has done for the Democratic party.
Thank you Howard Dean for all you have done and all you will do.

1. Thanks for the first person account |
|
Did it seem like a higher turnout compared to other election days?

I have to say I felt good after having the oportunity to cast my vote for the Doctor also. I walked away from our caucus feeling good about my vote for the first time in a while. I doubt I will feel the same come november.

7. I voted PROUDLY for Dean today also |
|
I was 447 in my small ward. Polling Place Worker told me turnout was high and it wasn't even 5:00p.m. yet when the after work rush begins...

9. Back on the board--and i hope I get a chance to vote too... |
|
But PA primary is in April, so it probably won;t matter much.
Just the other day, I signed the petitions for Kerry and Dean, who will now at least be ON the ballot.
I hope the others will be too.

11. The Wilmar polling place on the Isthmus was still busy at 5:50 pm |
|
Seemed to be far more younger people in line than I remember at this time of day in 2002. Back then, it was just me and a few (other?) old folks.
Dean posters everywhere on the walk down Willy St over to the Wilmar. I got a Dean DVD dropped on my doorstep this week, so they've been canvassing pretty heavily here. Kerry had a robot call me 2 or 3 times this week, but no flyers. I think the Kucinich brigade here in Madison has done some outreach through existing activist organizations (lots of MadPeace people, I believe), but I haven't seen much other recent campaign activity on the east side of the Isthmus.

Don't you just love participating in this process!
I'm a devout Edwards supporter but Dean and all of his supporters deserve tremendous thanks for all they have done to get people involved.
Dean finally gave the Democrats their spine back.

I probably won't have the opportunity. And I whole heartedly agree with the sentiment of owing a great deal of thanx to Gov. Dean. If not for him, this would have been a very sad primary for us. But thanx to the Gov., eyes have been opened (thank-you Gov. Dean)!

17. Good for all Dean voters today! |
|
piss on "the media" calling Howard Dean politically dead with only 25% of the people having actually voted.
Especially putting it on the Internet at 8:42a.m. from Wisconsin {which is still voting as I post this}.:argh: :hi:
