Edwards Statement On Report That Congress May Cave On Iraq Withdrawal Date
JOHN EDWARDS 08
Sep 6, 2007 11:03 AM

Chapel Hill, North Carolina – Following today's report in the New York Times that Congress may cave on a withdrawal date from Iraq, Sen. John Edwards released the following statement:

"In 2006, the American people elected a Democratic Congress to change course and end this war. It's the whole reason the American people voted for change. Yet, 10 months after the election, we still have the status quo and Congress has still failed to do the people's will. That might be the way they do it inside the Beltway, but it's not the American way. It's time to stand up for the American people and against President Bush's failed, stubborn policy. Without a firm deadline, a small withdrawal of only some of the surge troops won't cut it—that's not a solution, it's an excuse. Congress must not send President Bush any funding bill without a timeline to end this war. No timeline, no funding. No excuses."

2. Maybe he should call John Kerry
or read what he has written all over the internet. This is propaganda being put out by the White House and the left needs to stop helping them spread their lies.

6. Exactly
and this is not the first time Edwards has irresponsibly jumped on rumors against his own party in order to get some personal political gain.
He didn't do anything when he was actually in Congress, but now that he's out, he doesn't pass on any opportunity to criticize his former colleagues.

4. I think this is all a lot of hype to force everyone into accepting the Patreaus report
Preemptive strikes are their business--their only business.

5. thank Koresh Obama and Clinton are calling for immediate withdrawal from Iraq hahahaha
Obama wants to put the financial screws to the Iranian people in his finest Bush impression, and Clinton wants us to believe things are getting better and the surge is working in some cases (well it is in the case that your neighborhood is occupied by 5000 marines with tanks, probably, in her finest Bush impression.

one would never think the dems were elected to end the war in iraq. then again, maybe they weren't, after all.
