A psychiatrists view of Bush - true or false?
On the Greatest page there is a thread with the title,"A psychiatrists view of Bush." It comes with no link and appears to be the pasted text of an email. A search by GOOGLE gives no hits back to an original source and no Paul Minot is listed in Maine. www.snopes.com does not list this story but probably aren't aware of it yet.

While it is fun I don't think it is true that a Dr. Paul Minot has made such a diagnosis. My plea is that you don't spread this kind of stuff because it makes it easier to dismiss the real.

Here, though, is a listing for Dr. Paul Minot:

https://www.healthgrades.com/directory_search/physician/profiles/dr-md-reports/Dr-Paul-Minot-MD-44AC6942.cfm

and here's his website:

He sounds rather ... far out

The "diagnosis" is repeated and cross-posted all over the web, with his "byline". He lists it in his "blog" and says he originally posted it on The Daily Kos on 12/22/06.

4. Caution goes two ways... Please read the posts downstream
As, it seems there is substantial rebuttal to your original conclusion. Unfortunately, we know how things work. Your post alone, though, will be picked up by RWers to rebut Dr. Minot's post.

which was actually included in his profile on his dailykos posting. He discusses the notoriety he is getting for this posting which has circulated widely and been referred to frequently in MSM. I also found professional links for him in Maine via google by searching Dr. Paul Minot. He lists his email address on the following website, so you can correspond with him directly.

Dr. Justin Frank (author of "Bush on the Couch") has published similar analyses on Huffingtonpost.com so, I don't think it is so unusual to have psychiatrists post on blogs. You can find some of Dr. Franks' postings by searching the blogger index on huffington post, btw. And, should you have any doubts, I can verify first hand that Dr. Frank is the real deal, having met him through some psychiatrist friends of mine and read a number of his scientific papers in the medical literature.

There is debate about the "appropriateness" of analyzing individuals that one has never met or examined in person. Yet, as Dr. Frank points out, this is the basis for psychological profiles upon which we make policy and strategical decisions in dealing with foreign leaders, locating serial killers, etc. I think Dr. Frank's summation on Bush* is even more frightening, frankly.
