The VP Race and our slim Senate majority
Am I the only one who feels there is no was the party will allow two senators to give up their seats.

So to me Hillary/Obama Obama/Hillary Hillary/Biden etc. are all out of the realm of possibility.

If a senator gets the nomination he/she will be asked very strongly to select a Governor or other running mate.

That makes Hillary/Richardson or Hillary/Edwards both strong possibilities but there is also a good chance the VP will come from outside the race.

Thoughts.

4. Our top senate presidential candidates come from strong blue states
so it won't matter. No matter if Hillary and/or Obama resigned the Senate, they would be replaced by another Democrat. And a Dem would win a special election in either state as well.

5. Good point
I hope you're right but I wonder if Dean will be so confident.

6. If Democratic governors preside in states of potential veep noms, then
the seat is saved for our side of the aisle and the ticket proceeds.

I think our list of possible veep candidates is as electorally powerful as our field of top-slotters.

Agree with you that someone outside the predictable zones can't be ruled out.

8. Senators don't have to resign to run for President or VP
And if their states have Democratic Governors they can replace them once they win the election.

The biggest Senate consideration IMO is that Mark Warner isn't going to be picked because he's running for Senate in Virginia.
