Likely New Hampshire Voters Call Clinton Most Electable Candidate
Sen. Hillary Clinton has increased her lead over Sen. Barack Obama in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination in New Hampshire, according to a poll released Tuesday.

In the WMUR-CNN Granite State Poll, Clinton is the choice of 43 percent of likely Democratic voters, compared to 20 percent for Obama. When the same poll was conducted in July, Clinton had 36 percent support compared with 27 percent support for Obama.

John Edwards was third, with 12 percent, and Bill Richardson had 6 percent support. That's a slight improvement for Edwards but a drop for Richardson, who had 10 percent support in July.

The poll was conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center and has a margin of error of 5.6 percent.

"We're seeing on the Democratic side that the Clinton campaign is starting to pull away here," said Andy Smith of the UNH Survey Center.

Although 39 percent of likely voters picked Obama as the most likeable candidate, compared to Clinton's 16 percent, 54 percent said Clinton had the best chance of winning the White House. She also led the field in experience, with 47 percent saying she is the most experienced Democratic candidate.

Clinton has also improved in overall favorability. About 77 percent had a favorable opinion of her and 15 percent had an unfavorable opinion, for an overall favorability of 62 percent. Clinton's net favorability was 40 percent in April.

Hillary's unfavorables among Repubs. are 80% compared to Obama's 48%.

And her unfavorables among Independents are 40% compared to Obama's 27%.

19. Wrong. But the regular Repub. voters who wouldn't DREAM of voting for Hillary
WOULD vote for Obama. Hillary is a divider.

22. "Hillary is leading Dems and Repubs" - a concept trubrit71 is unable to grasp.
Wait! If she's winning against all Democrats AND Republicans in head to head matchups... and flipping red states.. she must be a (gasp!) UNITER.

25. I see that...
yet I find it hard to believe s/he can't understand that. I guess that like Hillary, her supporters WANT our country to remain divided and wear being divisive as a badge of honor.

11. That is EXACTLY what is happening now...but you are too dense to see it...
The GOP and their bought and paid for presstitutes in the MSM are puching her down our throat because they KNOW that the ONLY (D) candidate they can beat is HRC...

But keep on believing you're being an independent thinker...:eyes:

12. Well, it is happening now because "progressives" are scared of the big bad GOP machine
"Oh, no, they'll be too mean to Hillary so we can't nominate her!" :eyes:

That is the epitome of allowing Republicans to make this decision for us. In a time when the GOP is severely weakened by sex scandals and corporate scandals, their fundraising is stagnant, and brand "Republican" is at a 20 year low, why should Democrats be afraid to nominate our strongest candidate (according to the polls) based on what the REPUBLICANS think of her?

The dense one is you.

16. Exactly right!
Even BUSH just said she'll be the nominee because she's the only one with the money to campaign nationally and some other BS when we know Obama is beating her in the money raising. And yesterday one of the THs on MSNBC said the GOP fears running against Obama way more than Hillary.
