4. I think it is a diversion
They don't want us to know anything what's going on in Iran.

5. Didn't he preface his comment about Burma with "The American people are outraged.."

He USES the phrase "the American people..." whenever he needs to drive his point forward. My GUESS is that most Americans know very little about the problems in Burma.

Would anyone dare to ask Bush where he got the facts for that statement?

6. I'm An American People And A DUer.....
I consider myself pretty up on the latest and use DU to keep me informed. I venture to say that most of us on DU are pretty informed. I know I've been traveling for the week before * speaking at the UN - so I could have missed some posts regarding Burma and I'm sorry for that. I really hadn't read nor heard anything about what is going on there until after * said something at the UN. Now all of a sudden its on the news shows, in the papers and I'm starting to pick up some info on the web. I agree with a previous poster that it appears that this is being used as a diversion from Iraq/Iran. Almost like talking points went out after *'s speech at the UN and along with the talking points - orders to play down Iraq/Iran and play up Burma.
