This sucks... Fred Thompson is doing a decent job in his first debate |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-09-07 05:09 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
Thompson is the Bush Administration's manufactured consensus candidate, designed to prevent a split with the social issue nut-right, and I had hoped he would go up like the Hindenburg. But he's doing a decent job which will shatter the low expectations he has set.
"Decent job" is relative... he seems at least as sharp as gulianni and romney, which is the point. (I'm talking about potential appeal to republicans, not actual quality.)
Get ready for a titanic media wave of Fred-Luv.

1. Actually, I hope so. I would rather go against him than guiliani |
|
Not only is this guy extreme right wing, he is an idiot
They asked him why a falling dollar is bad, and he couldn't answer the question

2. Hmm. From the clips I've seen he looks really shaky. |
|
Have no fear. He simply doesn't have the work ethic to hang in this thing.

3. Hrm, good job from a Dem standpoint, though? |
|
I often can tell which repuke is going to sink like a stone depending on which one democrats think is half-way intelligent or reasonable, lol.
Although you are right, the media will pimp him, it doesn't mean the rank and file of the party will be buying.
Really, he would have to have a major groundswell of enormous support to overcome the lack of money and time at this point.

the Loyal Bushies do not like Hollywood Fred.

17. Jeb Bush is pushing for Romney. A Cheney daughter on the Thompson campaign is nothing more than a |
|
paycheck for an otherwise unemployable political hack/novice whose "pulling a Halliburton."

|
It was boilerplate talking points about how tax cuts don't reduce government revenue. (Isn't that the Rudester's line?)

I had msnbc on the hardball spot and thought I heard the usual chatterers and cacklers chortling their chapstick off about having to tape their eyelids open. Thought it was Freddit-fred-fred. Could be wrong.
