Is the media ignoring Edwards labor endorsements?
I must admit, I haven't seen much on it. I know the media obsesses about Obama and Clinton; Romney, Thompson, and Giuliani on the Republican side....but doesn't it seem incredibly wrong when the MSM doesn't even report when a top tier candidate gains ten major labor endorsements including the key state of Iowa? This race is far from over, and the media is making the same mistake they did in 2004 with Howard Dean. When will they learn?

Whether Edwards will win is mostly opinion, but he's a top tier candidate. A huge story like this deserves some press time. We all know what Hillary said on The View, now tell me something good about Edwards.

EDIT: On second thought, when they actually report on Edwards...isn't it usually negative? Tisk, tisk.

1. I gotta believe Edwards is the one that scares them the most
So while they pallaver over every aspect of Hillary, the mainstream ignores John knowing that keeping his name out of the mix slowly strangles the recognition aspect.

2. I can understand the huge interest story in Obama and Clinton.
But by god, he's still standing tall in Iowa. Has great organization there. Generating huge crowds, third in the polls, third in fundraising. Has a great campaign with a great message. And the MSM is ignoring him like he doesn't exist, and isn't in the top tier...until something negative happens...then they decide to bring him back up.

It seems like 2004 all over again. I guess Edwards is "dead in the water"

Wonder where I've heard that before *smirk*

3. It's obvious
Edwards isn't corporate America's choice for President and of course, the MSM does the bidding of
Corporate America therefore avoids Edwards like the plague, except of course, to talk about his
$400 haircut, etc. Don't you wonder why that is? The fact that he is not Corporate America's choice
makes me feel he's the only candidate for people like us.

7. True. But little does the media know, HRC hasn't won anything yet.
She's got Obama and Edwards to go through first. And that remains to be seen!

8. Who cares? Endorsements means votes, media coverage doesn't

All this begging for coverage makes me cranky. The one with the most coverage does not win.

9. I'm not begging. I'm asking the media to be fair and balanced.

And they aren't. They orgasm over Clinton and Obama, yet neither of them have won anything yet. Dean was leading in national polls and fundraising too. And did he win the nomination?

10. I think that it went to state council vs the national body hurt the impact in terms of press.
But Edwards gets something more valuable in the way of foot soldiers.

11. Yes he does. And I think despite not getting the national endorsement, it still was huge.
Especially winning the endorsement of the Iowa chapter. It'll benefit him greatly, media coverage or not.

12. Yes the Iowa chapter and possibly the CA chapter are the biggest feathers in his cap.
