Is There An Echo in Here?
The John Edwards campaign likes to say that it is the first to bring up bold policy ideas, only to be followed by the other Democratic candidates.

But when it comes to Democratic rhetoric, sometimes it is the other way around.

Last Saturday, while at a union picnic in Las Vegas, Bill Richardson complained that Hillary Clinton is “acting as if she’s won,” in a quote that was widely picked up, including by The New York Times.

Three days later, on Tuesday, the first day of his “Barnstorming for Rural America” tour through Iowa, Mr. Edwards accused Mrs. Clinton of “acting like she’s already won” for campaigning as though she was in a general election, not a primary.

But it isn’t only the Richardson campaign that Mr. Edwards has flattered through imitation. He also used language that appeared to be lifted directly from Mr. Obama, according to Marc Ambinder, who blogs for TheAtlantic.com.

They're all Democrats and it's hard to find original Democratic ideas or rhetoric.

1. Or more likely, it's that Edwards can't campaign on his own
record since he's sincerely apologized for nearly every vote he made; therefore, he has to campaign on rhetoric, and, when that runs out, he has to borrow it.

:hi:

3. I don't consider this to be plagiarism.
There are only so many ways to express certain ideas.

5. I don't, either
Whether it's rhetoric or policy -- there's only so much that can come of essentially Democratic points of view.

7. I was thinking the same thing!
He doesn't have to borrow ideas, he has plenty of his own.
