The right refers to Clinton as "liberal"
and we know that this is the worst description they can inflict on their opponents. The proposed Woodstock museum gave them another opening.

The left, at least on DU, refers to her as "corporatist" or "centrist" which, in this environment, again, is the worst description to inflict on an opponent.

Based on this observation alone, she must be doing something right.

2. It seems to be working...
I was not as much of a fan a few months ago, but she seems to be growing as a candidate. She is much more of a centrist and I don't agree with her on all issues, but I firmly believe she would make a great president.

kick and recommend

3. To the majority of republicans
anyone who is for free speech, opposes torture, opposes illegal wiretaps, opposes imprisonment without trial and opposes the president acting as a king (in other words truly supports the constitution) is a liberal, so wear it as a badge of honor.

14. It's A Bit More Simple
Anybody that didn't think exactly like them was the enemy regardless of how they thought...That's why Marx spent so much time attacking other socialists...

Wrecker!
Kulak!

I was making a slightly different point than you. But yes, internal enemies are an early step in totalitarian regimes of all stripes.

5. The Wingnuts
refer to all Dems as liberals. Bill certainly never qualified as one and Hillary is fast losing any claim to being one...

6. Extremists on all sides can't stand her.
The far righties call her a liberal. The far lefties call her a conservative.

This may have something to do with why she's walking away with it so far.

Perhaps the edges of the parties aren't as wide as many would assume them to be.

then not use it on a Clinton.

10. Which is probably why she prefers "progressive"
instead of liberal.

And it appears every place. The Democratic local chapter in my community refers to itself as "progressive."

15. Two Points
I never liked the term "progressive"... If someone ask me my politics I tell them I'm a liberal or left leaner...

Secondly, I listen to a lot of reich wing radio...I'm not sure the hate generated by Bored, Inanity, and Limpballs for Ms. Clinton equals the hate I have seen for her here that is exhibited by some...

18. What you call "doing everything right" is debatable.
Yes, Hillary has an overall liberal voting record, but her arguably hawkish stance on issues of war and association with the DLC muddy those waters. It is that slipperiness that some find rather repulsive. She has a formidable lead in the polls but at what cost? I view her as constant as a hologram.
