Pete Stark Should Apologize |
|
...as soon as Bush apologizes to the American people for:
- getting thousands of them (and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis) killed in a war that *he knew* was based on lies - destroying America's good name in the world - creating a breeding ground for terrorists that didn't exist before - shredding the meaning and spirit of the Constitution - making a mockery of our Dept. of Justice by filling it with incompetent, ignorant people who took an oath to protect Bush, rather than the Constitution - spitting in the face of Congress by ignoring requests for information, claiming Executive Privilege for everything under the sun, instructing people who are supposed to be serving in government to obstruct the truth from coming out by refusing to honor a subpoena - invading the privacy of untold thousands of Americans by illegal surveillance and then, retroactively, trying to get it legalized - sitting for photographs while signing a new bill into law, only to then reverse it by putting his signature on a 'Signing Statement' in private - Alberto Gonzales - Harriet Miers - Pat Tillman - Condoning the firing of the US Attorneys
Oh, the list is too painful and too long. Please feel free to add to it, as you like.

The thread i saw this morning said that Stark was wrong for saying it, in fact i was the only one that had said GOOD FOR HIM, at the time, good to see that we have woken up. GOOD FOR HIM, screw bush, personally at this point i believe it is for the presidents amusement because if the people and the congress could vote straight up this would end

4. There were several threads yesterday where many of us were jumping for joy (at least |
|
verbally) over what Stark said and several (including me) sent emails to Stark to thank him for his words.

7. Agreed. It will take years to undo the damage he's done (except for all the deaths which |
|
can never be undone). I hate thinking of all the families that have been torn apart (both here and there) - and, for what? For Halliburton and Blackwater stockholders to thrive?

8. Stark should go onto the floor and read this post |
|
He could probably go on for an hour or so listing all the things that Bush and the Rethugs need to apologize for.

9. Yes - Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo... You know, I started to make the list and then felt so |
|
overwhelmed by the enormity of it, I couldn't do it anymore. It's hard to comprehend, the totality of what he and his co-conspirators have done to this country.

12. And even after Bush apologizes for all that |
|
Stark still shouldn't apologize. The truth doesn't need to make excuses.

The "looking for WMD" under the desk routine was * humoring himself. One of several times he has made light of situations in Iraq.
