Seems to me Obama is returning to being the Obama that inspired us all & not so much the politician |
|
that we've been seeing the last year or so, and that is good.
He sounded awesome this morning in an interview with Matt Lauer such as talking in realistic terms about being diplomatic (give peace a chance, unlike what Bush and Cheney ever try) but tough with Iran and talking about blaming Bush and Cheney for getting us where we are in terms of high gasoline prices, etc, etc because of their warmongering ways AND he explained it in simple enough terms so that even the dumbest of neocons could understand how Bush and Cheney are screwing them as well as everyone else in this country. He was eloquent and SHARP. Matt tried to trick him into saying more harsh stuff about Hillary but Obama was so smooth and reasonable how he handled that, that I'm sure Matt was disappointed that he couldn't further fuel the Obama/Hillary wars and that is good news for our party. Obama in his own way is subtly letting us know that his main competition is not Hillary, but the Republicans.
You could tell this morning that Barack was speaking from his own heart instead of from the minds of some political handlers. That's the Obama that got me liking him so much to begin with.

18. Unfortunately that's the last time |
|
he inspired me. It's been all downhill since for me. Don't really know why...Obama does nothing for me and he only made matters worse with his awful judgement during the McClurkin mess.

3. Obama has flip flopped since his NYT interview of last week? |

That idea didn't last long... Some people here praised him when he called her a liar in the NYT interview.
Obama Promises a Forceful Stand Against Clinton - New York TimesSenator Barack Obama said he would start confronting Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton more directly, in response to concerns about his lack of assertiveness. www.nytimes.com/2007/10/28/us/politics/28obama.html

4. Thanks for your report, as I missed Obama on the Today Show. I did see the end of his interview |
|
with Mika Brzezinski on Morning Joe, and he was very good there, as well.

6. Like Al Gore said, his biggest mistake in 2000 was taking the consultants advice |
|
in pursuing the image they were trying to hone, rather than be himself. I wonder how much Obama has fallen prey to the same shit and may be breaking away?

and I hope Obama is realizing that being himself is in his own best interest and in the best interests of the people.

9. Obama has had a 3 part strategy for the primary. It is stage 3. |
|
chicago Trib. had an article early on about the campaign strategy. the first was to introduce Obama to voters, second was policy focus and small retailing politics, town halls, low key. third is ramping it up and being more visible and like now.
