If Hillary is our leader, will she accuse other world leaders of "piling on"?
If she can't handle her competitors "piling on" in a debate, how is she going to be an effective leader on the world stage?

39. I have family members who "suffer" from this "affliction".
I can smell it a mile away. You aggressively go after what you want by feigning 'passivity' (a word I probably just made up).

The 'woe is me, they are picking on a little girl' is textbook passive-aggressive out of a hawkish snarling woman like HRC.

46. Definitely one tough customer
Elizabeth likes to tell how he was continually underestimated as a trial lawyer. He got where he is by serious work and sticking to his principles. Regardless of what others say, he's been a solid populist from the beginning and he's a problem-solver par excellance. He's got the makings of a true statesman, and with any luck, people will see it before this far-too-fast sprint gets underway.

One of the many things I like about him is that his regulation and trust-busting isn't driven so much out of vengeance as it is out of a desire to restructure things so they work for everybody. Lighthearted and easygoing though he is, he's very morally mature and centered. His positiveness isn't just an affectation; he sees the possibilities and sees ways to get there.

That post was a joke; I'm an annoying, extreme Edwards partisan and have been since before first darkening this board in the spring of '01. (I first took notice of him in a big way during the Ashcroft confirmation hearings; too bad more people didn't listen to him.)

17. Where is she showing she can't handle it?

You may not like the way she has recast it but she has done so quite brillaintly.

Obama published and oped detailing his efforts against domestic violence and Edwards launched his Promise to American Women plan with a tour by his wife.

They just "happened" to coincide with a week when both went after Hillary.

They are afraid of losing women voters.

21. Are the players in touch football "victims"?
Seriously, does the one on the bottom come out crying and calling "Mommy"?

She's acknowledging that they're going after her and she has to be always thinking so as not to be caught and trampled...where does she cry "victim"?

ANY front runner will be attacked from behind. That's the kind of race it is. Should she say it isn't happening? Should she LIE?

Doesn't sound as if she's very worried, does it?

Another pathetic spin attempt from people who don't understand why they're losing and figure it must be someone else's fault. Hillary understands damn well why, so far, she's winning.

37. And the latest one:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-wires/20071102/clinton-piling-on/

CONCORD, N.H. — Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday her status as the Democratic presidential front-runner _ not her gender _ has led her male primary rivals to intensify their criticism of her.

"I don't think they're piling on because I'm a woman. I think they're piling on because I'm winning," Clinton told reporters after filing paperwork to appear on the New Hampshire primary ballot.

11. What makes you think she's not handling it?
Do you think pointing out that it happened—which it did, and it included the moderators—is such a terrible thing? Worse than it happening?

You're right, it was supposed to be a DEBATE. But the moderators were asking other candidates to comment, not on their own policies, but on Hillary. LOL! I think she's handling that bullcrap just fine. And I'm not even a fan.

43. Perhaps, if the 'because I'm the mommy' line fails
I agree, she is not handling fair criticism constructively and seems to be hiding behind her own skirt, complaining that the boys aren't playing fair.

I have a lot of respect for what she has done in her life, and know she had to work harder because of her gender, BUT a presidential race is no place for grumbling about being picked on.

IT'S A CAMPAIGN! The participants are supposed to challenge each other's positions and changing positions. Meeting fair challenge by playing on gender does a disservice to both genders and ALL people.
