Why do our political candidates insist on trashing one another
when the Neocons are doimg such a great job of it.

"Air Force #1 & its passengers...a must read, folks!

YOU WILL FIND THE SECRET SERVICE VIEWS ON THE
PERSONALITIES OF PAST
PRESIDENTS TO BE QUITE INTERESTING."

This was sent to me by "one of them" and is supposedly accounts from the secret service men who fly with the presidents. It trashes Johnson, Kennedy, Gore and the Clintons particulary Hillary and praises Nixon and the Bush family to the hilt.

I don't know how to put a referral to the copy which is on my e-mail list and if I print it out I will be severely chastized by some DUers for spreading trashy rumors.

Has anyone else rec'd this garbage? I would love to castrate the SOB who sent it to me but it would be a waste of blood and energy as he will never change his political views.

1. It's tough to win when you call your oponent a good person just as qualified as you
I mean, really. It IS a competition...not t-ball.

2. This "compettion " is turning me off and I see I am not the only one
who is being affected by all of the negativity.

5. All due respect, how old are you?
I'm not being snarky, just asking a serious question. How many elections have you been through. I don't know how candidates can help voters differentiate between them if they all say that each other are just swell and any one do as good a job as the other.

ALL elections are negative, it's just that some are nastier than others. It's the nature of the beast.

7. I am 84 years old and voted for FDR in 1944 when I was a student at the U of AZ.
and have never missed an election, since.

My husband was a political reporter for the Tucson papers for many years and I can tell you things may have been bad but they are not as nasty as they are now. Then, you depended on newspapers and the radio for political comment. TV was just coming into play and the Internet had not yet been invented.

Apparently the electronic media is promoting the nasty for the one-upmanship and it is ruining politics for me and many others, too. I am totally disgusted!!!

11. AWESOME!
So you've certainly seen it all, at least compared to most of us DUers! Now I understand why you feel things have gotten out of hand. I don't think there is any doubt that the media plays up the "fight" or "horse race" aspect of it for the ratings. They built up this Hillary inevitability b.s. to the point that it threatened to take all the fun out of it for them. By "fun" I mean dollars. There is a long way to go until next November, and they don't want people getting bored with the story line already, so we're going to see lots of Hillary near misses and supposed attacks from the others. Politics is just sports, after all. When people see a rout coming they tend to lose interest, or even start to feel bad for the underdog...they can't have that. Getting Hillary installed is too important to corporate America.

Thank you for your response. And congratulations on your voting record. Impressive to say the least!

3. There's a primary going on...not a coronation...
Hillary deserves criticism when warranted. Her opponents want to be the nominee. They can't do it by not pointing out their differences.

6. Contrasting where each candidate stands is not trashing
each other.

The top 3 are very close in their positions. We may as well vote
for any one of them. Just close our eyes an punch.

This is not bean bag. It is politics. Whomever wishes to win
better get some passion, some gumption and point out how
they are really different.

HRC is the almost decided candidate. The others can bow out
or step and show how they are different.

It is simply that time. The primary is going to be decided most
likely by early Feb. Pull out time for TGiving, Christmas, New
Years ---Oops the decision time is here.

10. Yeah, I totally got that. Gore as well.
They're insidious. Meanwhile, Rome is burning while Dumbya diddles and he's their hero. What a bunch off dumbfucks.
