Poll question: Final DU Run-Off Poll: Senator Joe Biden vs. Rep. Dennis Kucinich |
|
Well, it's the finals. Some surprises in the tournament as Edwards lost to Biden.
A winner will be called at 10 PM ET/7PM PT tonight. Kick it!

You may have been correct had this poll conducted last week. But Biden showed that he understands foreign policy. Talked about Pakistan before the recent martial law.
In post 9/11 we cannot afford to have a president with no interest and knowledge in foreign affairs, besides "none of our business, let's go home."

When I was a kid (practically nobody had a TV), we had newspapers. There was a time in the 50's, the early 50's, when I remember reading about UFO's flying over Washington DC and "them" sending our planes to chase them. Also remember some pilot, Kenneth Arnold, Roswell, etc., and the number of reputable people who witnessed these sightings.
I'm all for Biden, but not because Kuscinich saw a UFO. That would make me more inclined to support him, not less. Too much coverup, too much calling people crazy who see things not identified ...
But anyway, in case of a national emergency, Biden has a calming effect that would go along way in reassuring the public and also getting us some of our standing back with our allies....gees, they hate us now. Kuscinich has a little bit of an edge (rightfully so) but he has to learn to hide it better. I see him as more than a Representative - very intelligent and courageous man.

I'd rather have a candidate who saw a UFO,than candidates who only see dollar signs.
Biden might be ok with some, but I won't support any candidate who supports (or supported) the Patriot Act.There is absolutely nothing Patriotic about having supported it...either in the past or currently.Anyone who did not have the foresight to see that POS for what it is,cannot be trusted with leading this country.
I'll stick with Kooch.

The Patriot Act has undermined civil rights in this country, and as the US president, one of my first acts in office would be to move forward to have the Justice Department overturn the Patriot Act as unconstitutional. We have to remember that 9/11 led us down a cul-de-sac. Americans need to reconnect with our deeper sense of self here. The courage that it took to form this country is still within us, and I want to have the 9/10 Forum to help us reconnect with a deeper sense of who we are as Americans. Off the wall and his politics are just too alienating to a Centrist Democrat like myself.
And that's WITHOUT even getting into Kucinich's weird stuff like UFO sightings and believing in Chem Trails.
So I'm voting for Senator Biden.

30. I'm personally amazed at how many people express such lack of faith |
|
in themselevs.
We know that the IWR didn't work.
We know that the bankruptcy bill was writen by the credit card industry and that it hurts consumers
We know that the Patriot Act is an affront to our rights and liberties. Parts have already been thrown out by the courts, so "that didn't work."
Yet they give away there own best knowledge, their own best intuition because somebody said quit with your dreams and asperations. The corporations are going to get what ever they want, bush is going to get what he wants, and a majority in the Senate could care less about the constitution.
Go figure

25. Dennis has gotten more bills voted out of committe than Pelosi has since 1997. |
|
That seems pretty results oriented, given that Pelosi was the minority leader and is now the Speaker of the House. Dennis had 9 voted out of committe and Pelosi had 7 voted out of committe from 1997 when Dennis was a freshman Congressman until present. In 1997 Pelosi already had 10 years in the house. So I think Dennis is very results oriented.
Biden got results by voting for the IWR, the Patriot Act, and the Bankrupcty bill. I guess it comes down to which results you (or me) prefer to get.

If Biden was a top tier candidate, he probably wouldn't be so popular. Right now, it's hard to hate on him since he's doing so poorly. You feel like you're kicking a sick dog. If he was doing better in the polls, it would be much easier to tear him down.

I think this was a very interesting process. The conclusion I draw is that it really is ANYBODY'S race to win or lose. And I really think Hillary has very broad, very shallow support and that she won't win the nomination, but who will I can't guess.
I can predict though, that if one of the so-called second tier candidates win the nomination, Al Gore will be kicking himself in the ass for the rest of his under achieving life.

The poll is "officially" closed, but I was still pulling for Joe afterwards, because the voting's still going on whether it's "closed" or not. I was trying to make a joke by switching emphasis from "Joe is winning" to "It doesn't matter it's over" once DK pulled in front, but I guess I wasn't very clear. Sorry.
It's interesting to see what's happening here, though. I never would have dreamed it would have been Biden vs. DK, or that it would be a dead heat.
