Rice's Words to Musharraff Hypocritical?
It seems to me that Secretary of State Condi Rice's instructions to Pakistani President Musharraff to restore the constitution of his country are at least a little hypocritical. Do not get me wrong, I contend that what Musharraff has done in Pakistan is wrong and he should most definitely restore the constitution of his country. However, it seems a bit hollow coming from Condi Rice considering who she works for. As I was reading the story CNN has about Rice talking to Musharraf I felt that many of the quotes from Musharraf sounded just like Bush. I was thinking, at one point, that if you took out Musharraf's name and put Bush's name in the quotes would not seem like a misquote. Like Bush, Musharraf blamed an activist judicial system. In addition, people in Musharraf's cabinet are trying to curb the abilities of the media.

I contend Musharraf should restore the constitution of his country. However, I also think Condi Rice might want to tell another President, closer to her that, he needs to start abiding by the constitution of his country.
