I can't stand hearing about Hillary or Obama anymore. I'm sick of both of them. |
|
I don't give a damn where they go, or what they say, or how much they pay. My country is in dire straits! Neither one of them gets it. Things need to be done now. impeachment is about a million times more important than the elciton. Even the attorney general nomination is probably more important than the elciton right now, becuase he will determine whether or not the past dirty laundry gets aired. (NOT) RANT. I'm SICK and TIRED of BOTH OF THEM. I wish they would go away, or get to work and do something for our country.

They both do around 10% in the many DU straw polls.

Because Hillary and Obama because they will not challenge them or the status quo at all.Pay close attention Hillary and Obama say veiled right wing talking points. The DLC is fifth column and is infiltrated by right wingers and right wing ideologies. The corporate piggies fear Kucinich and say the 'unelectable stuff, and never give him air time, because they know Kucinich has a conscience he won't tolerate the same old shit and old boy network predation that Hillary and Obama would tolerate. And DK'would get out of Iraq ,out of Nafta, and Gatt, along with other"free" trade bullshit that harms this nation..

It was never particularly high, but I at least thought he was an acceptable alternative to the Hillary juggernaut. Now I'm not so sure, especially if he keeps up with this ridiculous line about holding hands with the Rethugs and coming together for "healing". :puke:

|
I worry that Obama won't do that. I worry that he's advocating that we all just swallow our anger at the past 7 years and pretend it didn't happen. That would be disastrous, IMHO.
I'd like to hear specifics about how he'd heal the wounds caused by BushCo and the Rethugs. He can't carry it off just through force of personality.

Edited on Fri Nov-09-07 12:05 AM by Yael
While Obama is promoting consensus and reconciliation, Edwards is selling confrontation and a day of reckoning.
Asked if she is looking for a fight, Huppert shot back, "I think it's going to take a fight."

I really liked those early albums, beginning with SITTIN' IN, and going forward for several more.
Some incredibly singable songs, plus a great backup set of musicians.
Awful good stuff.

34. I saw them at the Universal Ampitheater in the early 70s, |
|
when it was at the top of the hill with nothing around it but a few informational buildings. It was a good show. Anne Murray opened for them, if I recall.
15 years later I married someone with the same name as one of the band members. When I came back to work after the wedding, I was serenaded with a loud, disharmonic group version of "Your mama don't dance."

Who are you supporting?
As far as impeachment goes, I think Cheney is your best hope, but even then I don't think it will happen. Dems are thinking about the 2008 election and don't want to get mired down in messy, long hearings, especially if they don't have the votes.
I think the window of opportunity is closing fast. Personally, I think they could get the votes to impeach Cheney, he is very unpopular with the people and the congress. Besides, he would be a very good scapegoat for the rethugs, hell they could blame the war and everything else on him. Afterall, Cheney is the VENTRILOQUIST and Bush is his DUMMY!!! LOL

except that I never really could stand hearing about them. It just gets worse every day, seeing the front page filled with threads about them, when the majority of DUers don't even support them.
I usually don't click on them or post in those threads, hoping that they will sink, but the minority seem really busy kicking them up. Maybe it's just that the two camps have to fight it out to the death here at DU even if the rest don't care, or maybe they have flexible working hours, or both.
I sure as hell can't hang out and start, and maintain, a page full of threads about DK every day. He gets the most support in DU polls, with a minimal number of threads promoting him. Even now, I need to quit typing and get ready for work.

Hillary didn't leave a tip!
Well, Obama hates baby boomers!
Hillary cackles!
Obama didn't wear a flag pin!
Hillary will beat Rudy!
No she won't, Obama will beat Rudy!
Hillary would beat Rudy with her hands tied behind her back!
Obama beats Rudy in Pennsylvania.
Well Hillary beats Rudy in Ohio and McCain and Mitt too so there!
I guess I don't have a dog in this fight. I'm hoping for Gore, happy to settle for Richardson and if both options are off the table by the time my state gets around to voting, will proudly cast a vote for the Little Big Man, Dennis Kucinich.
As for the general election, well, whatever. I'm not getting a hate on for any of the leading Democrats at this time because I'll most likely end up supporting one of them.

The "Hillary is a fascist and her hair is ugly - oh yeah? well Obama has big ears and he's a jerk" foodfights are tiresome - and do absolutely nothing to help people's respective candidates.
My 9-year-old nieces sound more mature and intelligent when they're fighting over who gets to sit in the front seat than many of the folks on this board these days.

Kucinich, Edwards, Biden, Dodd, and Richardson are ALL better candidates. Every single one of them.
Obama and Clinton are #7 and #8 on my preference list. They are below Mike Gravel, who (despite his distinguished record) cannot even be considered a serious candidate in this race.
