Dear Howard Dean, please stay off the Ed Schultz show today with your talking points.
Norman Goldman will eat you alive if you keep on using party talking points.

If you tell him that we don't do "gotcha" politics like you did someone this week....be prepared to be blasted.

If you are going to use the party line talking points on that show today, then just stay off the show.

Stand up and speak clearly like you used to do....or just don't go on the air.

4. It's likely TeamClinton is threatening pink slips to Dems in MANY positions
and especially Dean's role as party chair.

They have certainly played that card a number of times this past year.

And Bill DID start the talking point about moving past accountability for Bush and Cheney the other day.

>>>>>>>
Any shot at the current president is an automatic applause line with a Democratic audience. But rather than taking the easy ovation, Clinton gently deflected an audience member's suggestion that President Bush be included in his list of global problems.

"Yeah, Bush and Cheney," he said. "I could sit here all night and make you laugh and cry and stand up and cheer talking about the president and the vice president. But the country is over that. Let's get the show on the road again."

10. I'm not over it, and Bill Clinton was wrong to say that.
He sounds like we are supposed to be one party.

2. Just curious, what's Ed's take on all of these recent Dem collapses?
I stopped listening a while ago. Is Eddie still pushing the centrist line, or is he pissed off like the rest of us?

3. I hate his view on immigration, but he is really going after rhetoric
that doesn't mean anything. He attacked Wasserman Schultz yesterday for spinning.

9. Not doing anything wrong, just not speaking out. Using party line rhetoric
which he has to do.

Yes, it annoys me a lot.

20. Not talking about real opinion.
Talking about talking points. Using the party line rhetoric word for word...

You don't know my real opinions.

14. So is he being forced into sounding like a DLCer?

That's what I fear about the DNC -- excessive DLC influence. I think Dean has been a good spokesman whenever I've heard him on tv and I think his 50 state strategy is a good one. It's been some time since I've seen him on tv, however, though maybe I've just missed his appearances.

7. I greatly prefer the "old" Howard, too, rather than the moderate, more main-
stream politician, Howard Dean.

We love (or at least I did and do) the firebrand Howard who spoke what's on his mind with passion.

12. That's why many of us worried when he became chairman.
Not that he isn't doing a good job, but that he can't speak out.

Hubby and I much prefer the old one who said real things.

18. Well, as an Ohioan
I live in one of the states that was written off by the old one, and I prefer Dean, who has helped revive the zombie-like Dem Party in our state.

22. I think he is doing a vital job as chairman.
With my state trying to hurt the DNC financially by withholding money and lawsuits, he is building the party still.

I like the job he is doing, but I think we lost an important voice.

Now the party is actually being so inclusive of the religious right that they are practically kicking pro-choice out of the left side of the big tent.

25. It's a toughie
Voice or infrastructure? Sadly, it seems an either-or.

I am supporting DK, who is the most progressive (except on choice-the man baffles me there) of the bunch. He's pushing the party left, which to some extent counters the ROC crap we are getting from the party apparat.

My hope is, to push the candidates left and let Howie do what he has done best.

26. Good point....about "voice or infrastructure"
You can have infrastructure and stand for nothing, or you can speak out with nothing to back it up.

I guess we keep letting them hear us and hope we end up with both.

But I'm grateful for what he's done with his 50-state strategy.

God bless him ~ I don't know how he can stand working with the machine politicians.
