This will cause Hillary and Obama to go backwards while Edwards will benefit. It's usually the 2nd and 3rd students who get detention, while the first student that starts it gets off Scott-free.

1. A pedestrian analysis ....
Which I suspect is self serving ....

If you were to wager something of significance to support your contention, perhaps you would be more careful ....

3. "more careful" ? What the heck does that mean? That sounds nasty!

But then so is the rest of the post.Condescending and belittling fellow posters is not admirable and is a familiar tactic used to stifle debate. Very sad.

11. My point about being 'more careful' ...
Edited on Sun Nov-11-07 03:20 PM by Trajan
Is only to show that posters can make ANY meaningless claims to sooth there own ego, because they have nothing to lose .... This is one of those posts: just blurting out an opinion without any basis other than a feeling ....

Hacking away at one or another of our slate of GOOD Democratic party candidates for the cavalier purpose of promoting their own favorite candidate, without any basis other than their own feelings.

IF there were something at stake for making such assertions, then more care would be required: But since there is no price for making such baseless claims, no care is required to blurt out whatever one might think, even if it has no rational basis .... and even if it is just another slam against one or another of our GOOD candidates without concrete foundation ...

For all the self aggrandizing posts here that attack good Democrats for no other reason than to satisfy an inner need to believe one's own choice is correct, it would be proper, I believe, to OWN those statements .....

IF you were to make a claim that proved to be incorrect, then you should 'pay the price' in lost credibility .... Hence you would need to be 'more careful', because something, in this case your own reputation, would be at stake .... Here you can say anything you wish about the other good candidates, true or not, and there is no price to pay for being wrong ....

I am not trying to stifle anything : I have NO POWER WHATSOEVER to stop anyone from doing anything ..... I am merely pointing out the fact that silly claims can be cast about without cost, and IF there was a cost for being wrong, then posters would be 'more careful' in making such claims; There is no attempt to stifle anything except baseless, mean-spirited attacks against ALL of our Democratic Party candidates ....

4. Let's hope he's right.
Keep this primary undecided for a bit longer, maybe we can still re-elect President Gore.

5. Even A Blind Squirrel Finds An Occasional Nut
I do wonder who will be the beneficiary of the Clinton bashing and how will Hillary react to it... I have no doubt if this was a two person race she would react differently...

I do wonder if her "I only beat up Rethuglicans" theme will carry the day...She needs to add that any attack on a Dem by another Dem enables the Rethuglicans and she won't engage in it...She will probably be hated here as she already is but I suspect that theme is a primary election winner...

6. I think she got out too far in front too early.
I know it sounds like spin, but she became too much of a target with too much time before the caucuses.

If Edwards continues to tank, she can probably afford to turn some serious fire Obama's way.

7. When Mondale Fell Behind In 84 He Wrapped Himeslf In Democratic Party Orthodoxy
And he was nearly dead politically after losing NH and most of the big primaries on Super Tuesday...

It's hard to respond to attacks in a multi-candidate race when there are other candidates to pick up the support of the person doing the attacking and the person being attacked...

8. Mondale had a huge money and resources advantage.
That's the difference between Obama and Hart/Bradley types of challengers--Obama has the resources to take advantage over an early stumble.

That, and he has charisma.

Bill Bradley not so much...

14. True, but neither had money.
Hart also had some lame judgment in his choice of sailing companions.

15. Well, he's trending sharply down in Iowa
and is below the 15% threshold in every other state but North Carolina.\

His county chairs in Iowa are starting to ditch him too.

9. WTF are you talking about "more careful"?
He's got a right to his opinion and doesn't need to be "more careful" of what he thinks. Gheesh.

12. As one of the current crop of attackers ....
Edited on Sun Nov-11-07 03:00 PM by Trajan
One of the extremely divisive partisans here at DU, I doubt you would understand ....

You are FREE FREE FREE to say what you wish ...

But you are NOT free from criticism for your invalid statements OR divisiveness ...

When it comes to being 'more careful' about honesty, I do not believe your posts exemplify that quality ... When it comes to being 'more careful' about debasing other candidates that are NOT your personal choice, using baseless assertions, then your posts show more care than most ....

Say what you want .... but expect a negative response for your negative attacks ...

17. Try posting something positive for once. It's good for the soul
instead of acting so bitter all the time and so condescending towards others. You just can't stomach anyone criticizing your idol and when that happens you attack the poster instead of the post. Now run along...

18. I have no 'idol' ....
I simply wont stand for petty attacks on our candidates, including Edwards ....

(FYI: I have NO specific candidate, like MANY other DUers who are tired of the ugliness of the candidate partisans)

If you knew the definition of 'condescension', you wouldn't have used it ... I am not condescending, I am criticizing ...

It is also clear I am DIRECTLY arguing against your message, and against anyone promoting this petty divisiveness in our forums ....

I will be right here ....

2. I guess with all the bashing and flaming by Obama and his supporters
Clinton thinks it is time to start to strike back. I don't blame her, he has been spewing his shit long enough.

16. I was never an Edwards supporter before, but he has been impressive
recently.

I'm still waiting on Gore. But, if not Gore, I can live with Edwards and his new approach.
