I'm in the anyone but Hillary crowd. Her Iran stance is deplorable. |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-15-07 11:40 PM by Windy
I can't believe she had the unmitigated gall to stand up and give that BS to a soldier who served 3 tours in Iraq and to the mother who worried about him the entire time he was deployed.
Also, stating that she doesn't support raising the cap on SS as it will effect her firefighter constitutes was just ridiculous. She is not for raising the cap because it will offend her wealthy supporters and the corporations. Really, she is not fooling anyone with that. And the stats provided have been reported elsewhere. Only 6% of the country makes of 96,000 per year. With the direction that this economy is going, the the 6% is more than likely going to decrease even more with all the wealth going to the corporate execs who are benefiting from outsourcing and the unchecked hiring of cheap labor both here and abroad.
I had hopes for a thinking democratic electorate in this critical election. I'm beginning to loose faith.

1. You mean an electorate that agrees with you. |

As opposed to a democracy. Oh, well.

thinks for themselves, etc. and doesn't just follow along. If you know what the facts are, you can weed out the bullshit.
FYI, I believe that your argument is precisely the argument that a lot of diehard bush supporters make.

It was all I could take. And I've lived in Montana, Arkansas and Mississippi - if that tells you anything about Nevada.

and his son, Clark County Commission Chairman Rory Reid is Hillary lead campaign person for Nevada. No one needs a crystal ball here. We have no choice. Hillary has been shoved down our throats from day one.

Also ridiculous.
War and global power to the money making elites, the top 5%. That's what she's about. I don't know why people can't see it.

I am pretty sure that rules out 1%ers like Gravel and Kucinich.

I may scrawl his name in on my general ballot as well.
I'm voting for the person who makes the most sense, and has the courage to really lead. That is Kucinich.

9. She is right in her stance about diplomacy. This is something |
|
one learns right out of the Godfather playbook. "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer". When a President has what some call "peace" around the world do you think he achieves that by trying to be the school yard bully? NO! The president has his qualified team of diplomats out there talking to those countries and leaders and that in the long run helps.
I believe HRC will achieve relations again with those countries and as she said the "era of cowboy diplomacy will be over". I concur and she is right on Iran.

I gave myself a few days time-out here because I was so pissed off that she voted 'yes' on Kyl-Lieberman.
I am torn as to what I will do if she gets the nod. I am appalled by many of her positions and policies, and by the way she does business as a politician.
I have never voted third party or not voted - EVER - and I must say keeping the Supreme Court in mind I will really struggle with my vote in the general election if she does gets the nod.

I can't vote for Hillary, period.
It's against my religion. It's against the basic values I was raised with. I wish i could, but holding my nose isn't going to absolve my soul.
I can't vote for war. And she's war, and more war.

|
I must say Obama had the best answer on this. His presentation was clear and to the point.
This commission stuff--There have been 2 commissions and they recommended Privatization.
Alan Greenspan said with a few adjustments SS can be easily fixed. Even he said lifting that darn cap on upper Income people.

20. I agree with you about Hillary. She's my last choice... |
|
I am finding it hard to believe that Hillary is even in the top 25 of potential candidates in our party.
She's so entrenched in everything that is wrong about DC--the corruption, cronyism, elitism and the corporate takeover of our government that has left "We The People" in the dust.
I am mainly concerned about her consistent pro-war votes, which rival Lieberman's voting record. She is not what we need, if you want peace, real change, our Constitution restored and a plan to obliterate the neocon damage.
I don't thinks she's electable. Republicans hate her. AT least 1/3 of our party detests her. I stood up for Bill during Monica, but I saw very well the effect his behavior had on the electorate. His shenanigans helped to put Bush in the White House. The American people understand sex scandals and the were convinced that a "moral" Republican administration was needed to restore honor in the White House. If Hillary runs, they will decimate her seven ways to Sunday by regurgitating this titilating and shameful chapter in American history.
We'll hear about blow jobs, cigars and blue dresses nonstop. Only this time the focus will be on Hillary--and how were husband wasn't loyal to her and how screwed up she must be to be married to a man who would fuck an intern. America will sour to her. They've temporarily forgotten Monica, but right-wing radio and the rest of the MSM will capitalize on the salacious (ratings-grabbing) tangent of this.
By the end of March, it'll be over.
Why oh why do so many in our party want to endure this slaughter for a candidate who is a warmongering, corporatist insider who does not stand up and fight Bush on the tough issues?
It's a frickin disaster.
