... as John Edward's Vice President !!
Call me crazy, but here's how I see it.
Al is not going to run for President in '08 ... he's going to run for Vice-President !! On a ticket led by John Edwards !!
It all makes perfect sense. As Al well knows, the Vice President position is largely ceremonial ( unless you're Dick Cheney and actually call the shots ). There's no love lost between Hillary and Al ( in fact I'd guess they pretty much despise each other ). Obama is a big proponent of nuclear energy ... not good, not clean . Edwards is not only the most electable of the top three, he is also the most progressive ... and in my opinion the likeliest to knock off Team Corporate Hillary Media, Inc. If Edwards were to offer Al the Vice Presidency with the caveat that he could use that platform to concentrate SOLELY on the climate crisis, backed by the full force of the Administration ... how could Al refuse ?
All the missed filing deadlines would mean absolutely nothing. He would likely only have to do one televised debate. He could pick and choose the amount of campaigning he'd want to do ( his name value on the ticket would largely be enough ). Basically, he could stay out the dirty trenches ... almost guarantee Edwrads the nomination and win , and then in 8 years become President himself ! It's perfect.
Al will be convening soon a New Hampshire Democratic debate focusing just on the environment. Watch Edwards closely on this ... and the interplay between the two men. I have a very strong feeling that Edwards will come off the best here, and that will then be used as the opening for Edwards and Gore to announce their new partnership, sometime before the first caucuses/primaries.
Call me crazy, but this is where I'm now focusing all my political good will. I feel it must be so !

3. That is one definitive statement he HAS made. |
|
That he will not be a vice president or serve on a cabinet.

7. Right - - additionally, Gore doesn't view the VP as "mostly ceremonial" |
|
Gore ran large areas of the Clinton admin policies himself - - this was a condition of his agreeing to be Clinton's VP. Gore was the most powerful Vice President in history before Cheney came on the scene.

Big Blue Meanies ... the LOT of you.
Here's hoping I have the last laugh. ( I'll still share my champagne... with MOST of you. )
My wife just informed me that I must have a lot of free time on my hands, when I told her of my revelation. She's a Big Blue Meanie too.

10. I think you have an interesting take on this, and |
|
frankly, nothing is etched in stone, so it could very well happen. I wouldn't put anything past what Gore might decide to do. His statement about not being VP or a cabinet member might have been mostly about not wanting to work with Hillary, and maybe he doesn't have the same viewpoint about others.
