Poll question: How would have you answered the "elderly woman" asking Obama the "question"?
In the recent video where some thought Barack Obama appeared to "be yelling", a middle-aged woman asked this question:

"I want to know specifically what you would do to protect this country...from terrorism...and are we going to close the borders...and are we going to get rid of the illegal immigrants..."

Some had suggested that Obama could have answered a simple yes or no. So what's the answer?

1. Huh?
"I want to know specifically what you would do..." can be answered with a yes or no?

Who says so and what are they on? That's got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

3. Here's the link to the person who thought a simple yes or no "would suffice"...

5. Hmmm...
Apparently the person who started that thread is prone to making a lot of inane and/or nasty posts.

I can't open it and can't even tell who started it, since I have the OP on ignore until after the primaries.

Want to exerpt a line or two here to make my day? :D

7. it is an attempt to be too clever by half
A yes or no response will be met with the criticism that Obama lacks depth. That specific person has appeared to have lost all objectivity. I would love to meet the person though just to get a better understanding of his or her thought process.

4. We're all from someplace. Our ancestors are from all those someplaces.

And it's a wild, fractal ride trying to trace our past. The farther back we try to trace it, the foggier things are.

I wasn't there so I can't "hear" the woman's voice. I can only "hear" it in print. It would be helpful to know more about her.

It's an odd question for her to be asking Barack Obama.

Next, I feel it's an odd question to be asking anybody.

To begin with, is there a deliberate association the woman is making that "immigrants" are "terrorists"?

I'm not on board with that, ma'am.

Perhaps the woman has been frightened by Bush-era, Giuliani-type rhetoric about terrorists following us home if we leave, etc. I would not ridicule her fear. I saw on television the commercial jets slamming into the World Trade Towers.

But I'm not sure the next logical reaction is to lump "immigrants" with "terrorists," if that is what she's suggesting. It could also be that I'm missing the red side of a green barn. Or it could be that the woman didn't realize she was suggesting that link.

This is a pre-Thanksgiving news blip on the cable stations, soon to dissipate in the roar of the crowd for the Lions/Packers game.

Likely impact on the Iowa caucus: zippo.

6. It's nothing more than bad audio. And the lady is not elderly!!
A simple yes or no is NOT sufficient.

8. Pardon me, but...........
I saw and heard the lady on TV. He was speaking at a Seniors group. She INDEED was a Senior citizen, and her tone was very critical!! I think he raised his voice so that the hard of hearing (or hard headed folks, who had drunk the "koolaid") could hear what he was saying! These folks have been really "brainwashed" with fear, and he was just trying to assure her. She could have been a plant, but I really don't think so.

9. I think you misunderstood...
The person who started that topic asked if Obama ever answered the question for the lady, not that he could have answered it with a yes or no. The OP was asking people here to say yes, he answered it, or no, he did not answer it.
