My pledge to DU with this approaching Holiday season.
Edited on Tue Nov-20-07 10:04 AM by William769
With all the infighting during this primary season so far (I have been just as guilty as the next person), I have decided to not participate in the spirited discussions we have had to date until January 1st, but to use my time & resources to helping the less fortunate. I had a very strange dream last night & I feel this is what my calling is to be for the coming season.

I wish all of you and your families the best this Holiday season however you decide to celebrate it.

Billy

2. Fuck off.
:P

I've decided to gently chide each candidate equally, picking a totally non-meaningful and untrue area randomly.

Example:

"I've heard that John Edwards refuses to use sliding glass doors."

"Did you hear? Obama has a velvet painting of John Kennedy Toole in his study."

etc. etc.

3. Interesting.
Perhaps the one and only time our thoughts are on the same wavelength.

I was just thinking this morning that I could happily skip Thanksgiving this year. I'm not allowed to eat the dinner, doctors orders. I'm supposed to help buy it and cook it, though. Now my mom isn't coming because we have to have dinner late, instead of our traditional 1-2pm feast. Another family member works all day until the evening. Mom doesn't want to drive that far home in the dark, or leave her livestock unfed.

So I'm supposed to help cook, serve, and clean up after a meal I can't eat, and don't get to serve it until almost bedtime (for me; I'm an early riser).

I'm thinking about taking my grandson somewhere that day to help feed other people, and letting his dad deal with the late dinner at our place. With key family members missing, and one of us not able to participate in the feast anyway, it seems like our efforts could be better utilized serving others.

4. There is always common ground to be found.
Helping feed other people is a great plan.

5. I commend you for that choice.
Serving the greater good is the most noble effort of all. :patriot: :applause:
