Need help busting a rethug FAUX News morAn
I made some crack about FAUX news being, well, faux! He tells me, "name one time you've gotten false information from FAUX. Not commentary but an actual news story that turned out to be wrong."

So of course I draw a blank. First of all, I don't ever watch that shit, but I know I've read stories here about bad information coming out. I seem to remember something about O'Liely going off on a huge "war on xmas" rant that turned out to be a bogus story.

Any little tidbits would be great. I should have been prepared for idiot relatives this Thanksgiving. :D

If this person is a Fox "news" watcher there is very little you can do or say
to change their mind .... they like things black or white and very simple

4. A couple of those are opinions, but
Misidentifying corrupt repukes as Dems is a PERFECT example. Thank you. By the way, what the fuck is the upside to civil war?

I don't care if I change their mind, I'm not that close to them. I just want to be right. :D

6. Its ALL commentary
Its like the old Soviet joke: The newspaper was called Pravda (meaning "The Truth") and the nightly newscast was called Vremya (meaning "The News") so the joke was - there's no news in Pravda and no truth in Vremya.

Fox News has no truth & no news.

16. Not to nitpick, but
"Novosti" means "news"

"Vremya" means "time"

The old Soviet adage was, of course, spot on.
Too bad portions of the "anti-communist" MSM have
adopted so many of the tactics of their Soviet
counterparts.

attended a madrassa school when he lived in Indonesia. They also wrote an article in which they quoted John Kerry as referring to himself as the first metro sexual presidential candidate. It turns out they made that up as well.

11. How about Fux Snooze putting out...
the story that the fires in CA were the act of terrorism, because they were basing it on a 4 year old document from Arizona....they also said a "guy was said to be seen starting one of fires"....

Or, the recent story where Brillo said there had been no deaths in Iraq for the week.(October 19th) The lie was stated on his show, then they told the same story the next day on another show, when in fact, there had been 6 american troops killed. When corrected, Brillo tried to get out of it by saying that he meant "in the Anbar province"....rriiiggghhhttt.....

12. The weapons of mass destruction were discovered on Fox several times in instances
that were not covered by the other outlets because they were obviously bogus PR ops.

That's a case of Fox disseminating Govt. propoganda that they must have known was false, but ran as true. Not the same as creating a stroy from wholecloth, but it's the first thing that came to mind

13. How about Gore losing Florida?
When he actually won. Fox News muddied the water, eventually creating a Bush "win" where there was none.

Oh, and their claim that they are not porn.

14. There was a study about Faux News a while back where a lot
or most of their viewers believed that Iraq had something to do with 911, and that WMDs were found in Iraq. Not surprisingly, the study found that Daily Show viewers were better informed than Fauxnews viewers.
